And of course, your "participation" was just thoughtful and erudite discussion.

Thanks for the laugh!

(Oh, and vote for the Easter Bunny, for all we care.)

Follow the VP selection.

If Trump wins we must hope that he brings along a strong 'first officer' [airplane speak] and seriously able Cabinet and advisors, experienced and well versed in the major issues of the day.   And courageous, able to stand up to the boss, able to work in concert.

Immigration?  Who has more border control involvement/experience than Greg Abbott of Texas?

Foreign policy?  The economy?   Anybody have a favorite?  We sure don't need anyone bringing legal baggage along from the get-go.

Biden's VP...what is his name?  Oops, it is a female.  What are her plus marks?

Think of it as a Vice Presidential election and go from there.   Especially critical if Biden wins.  Who can take over in the event of...?

Candy, first of all, despite Mike Pence's utter servility during Trump's presidency, Trump considers him to have betrayed him by refusing to nullify the election. So this time, he'll want an utterly fawning, obedient lackey who will serve him no matter what--as Trump feels that such is the primary duty and purpose of any member of the government.

If you consider Abbott to be a good candidate, just consider: he's recently defied federal law multiple times, assuming power that he does not constitutionally have. And now he would become a powerful member of that same federal government? That would be illogical--and don't forget, except for the extreme MAGAs, Abbott isn't all that popular, even in Texas.

There is a plethora of potential VP candidates who could bring their expertise to a second Trump administration. But I can't think of one who would have the needed abilities, yet be an utterly servile lackey. Also, don't forget--being Trump's VP would utterly doom anyone's future political career. It would basically be a roll of the dice to see if Trump croaks so that the veep could back-door into the Presidency, for however long.

As far as Harris goes, she has a long career in public service. She has a terrible way of public speaking that obscures her abilities, much as Biden's stutters make the tiny-brained crowd think he's senile. If Biden were to become incapacitated, she would become a caretaker President, and that would make the way for some rising Democratic star in 2028.

So to restate your fundamental question: who would we want in the Oval Office if one of these old men kicked the bucket? Well, would you want someone whose primary, even sole qualification was how kissy-kissy slurp-slurp they were to Trump? Because you can bet your ass, that will be the only qualification that Trump considers!

Dunno.  Just 'food for thought', another avenue for muddling the discussion.

I appreciate your comments.  You keep up with the players biased or not.  [Not a criticism there.]

There is a difference in nullifying and not certifying an election - a distinction that Lewis conveniently distorts. Abbott is extremely popular in Texas and is obeying the constitution - while brain dead Biben ignores the constitution - to the detrement of all of America. Hyena Harris has offered NOTHING as Vice President - except for her horse laugh - she is even less than pathetic.
