50 Ways Vegas Has Changed Since Frommer’s 1998

This truly a great walk down memory lane! By ShortArmsDeepPockets 50 Ways Vegas Has Changed Since Frommer’s 1998
My first trip was in 2000, with a 1998 Frommer's Guide as my map. I live here now, but back then looked at Vegas as a weeklong party.
My memories of the list 35. The Stardust. We made a special trip to watch the place go down since we used to stay there a lot. I got on a run playing Blackjack at Slots-O-Fun and missed the "BOOM" 32. The Showboat. My first trip to Vegas was for a bowling tournament there. They had an AWA card there one night and I played Blackjack with some of the wrestlers. They were F! U! N! 20 & 29. My first trip to Vegas I went to go see Splash. Dressed up in my good Three Piece Suit because I was told that was expected to go see a show. When the show was over about midnight, I had the pleasure of meeting up with the "Las Vegas Late-Night Female Entertainment Society". One "member" that was filled with "enthusiasm" and wanted me to go and join her so she could tell me about how the group worked. I told her I really wasn't interested and left. 19. Saw Siegfried and Roy at the "Frontier"(?). Tipped $20 and we had a table right down front. Great show. 4 & 7. Loved going to Vegas and "pigging out". Like she says, deals now are few and far between. 1. Resort Fees. If you want to charge me $75 for a room, JUST DO IT!!!! If you want to tell me "The room is $45, but we're charging you $30 for free local calls (who in the HELL do I know in Vegas), a "FREE?" newspaper, use of the gym (I don't exercise here at home. Why would I fly 1,500 miles to do it), and two tiny bottles of water that MAYBE costs you $.05 each, I'll find better things to do with my money. Thanks to MyVegas and a free flight I've earned, I might make one last trip to see the old girl. Some how, I don't think it will be the same though. Ray
Isn't the lobby of the Algiers preserved as the entrance to the Neon Museum these days?

I thought it was the lobby of the La Concha motel that is at the Neon Museum.
That is right Horse!
My bad.
We took a "Griswold" family vacation in 2001. Me, my 2 sons, my sister, BIL, 3 kids, other sister and friend, and my mother!!! Eleven of us! We stayed in Circus Circus. There was a transportation strike and we had to walk every where! We ate one night at The Stardust because #2 son wanted lobster and steak! I let him pick the numbers for Keno, my mother gave me a stern talking to about that because he was 11, and he won enough to pay for our dinner!! So when he turned 21, we took him back! What a great trip down memory lane!
