Best Restaurant Experiences / Restaurant Deals

I'm pretty sure Frank is Westie on the old site and he's DEFINITELY the go to guy for food and restaurants. He's one of the epitome of posters with personal and first hand experiences, something people don't get from reading canned dining guides(which do have their place) reviews. I'm really glad he showed up to help you out, Bon Apetit'
A few of our favorites are Suncoast steakhouse SC Prime, besides all the steaks you'd expect they have a prime rib special daily for $35. Large portion large baked potato, vegies, bread and salad-very good. Golden Steer steakhouse just off Sahara and LV BLVD. Don't let the outside fool you, this is Las Vegas oldest steak house and once you go in you realize why its still there and be very impressed with the food and service. This is old school Vegas and the booths are named after all the Vegas entertainers and where they sat-Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr, Dean Martin etc. Sunset Stations steakhouse Sonoma Cellar is the sister to Franks suggestion of Texas station and it too has a coupon in LVA MRB. At Arizona Charlies on Decator, we had a good steak dinner at Rons steahouse. This is the old Yukon Grille steakhouse and we were surprised how good it was. Not real expensive. Just a few of our steak favorites.
On our last trip, see trip report for photos, we revisited several of our favorites plus discovered a few new ones. In order of appearance: Baguette Cafe - vegetable quiche again! (5 Forks out of a possible 5) Pier 215 - our miso salmon shrimp and scallop tobanyaki entrees were both excellent while prices were reasonable. Avoid the tempura vegetables - a ripoff. (4.5 Forks) Oyster Bar @ Hard Rock - my wife felt her combo pan roast was better than the ones served at Palace Station. My curried coconut seafood stew was outstanding as well. (4.5 Forks) Sarah's Kitchen @ Klondike Sunset Casino - another $1.49 breakfast. (3 Forks) Cafe Breizh - my galette was pretty good, but a bit dry. My wife's caramel butter, apple and cream crepe was amaZing. (4 Forks) Hanks @ GVR using a comp - fantastic steaks and service, but high prices. Enjoyed excellent martinis during happy hour. (4.5 Forks) Rosalie - Le French Cafe - the chevre quiche was a good (excellent) as always, but I took it to a higher level by ordering tartiflette quiche. (5 Forks) Jean Philippe Patisserie @ Aria using a MyVegas reward. My wife ordered our usual mixed berry souffle crepe that we have enjoyed several times in the past while I chose to go savory with an Italian crepe (galette) that was excellent. Those were the best meals of the trip. 2 restaurant tied for the Boobie Prize - Urban Turban and Served. Link to TR - https://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/vegas-with-an-edge/westies-get-smoked-las-vegas/
jatki, I don't no that the forums have dropped off all that much with the switch to the new site, its just seems to be a continuation of how the forums have been for quite some time now. It just seems that so many knowledgeable people have moved on from the site/forums. I used to garner so much valuable info from these forums that I don't now. With that being said I am much more of a Vegas veteran now than years ago and no doubt I know my way around out there and am not as prone to learn something new as readily as years ago.

I know some people may not agree but we like Ellis Island for either the steak special or the BBQ.
My wife loves Ping Pang Pong at the Gold Coast, especially the Honey Walnut Shrimp. Also the Cornerstone Steak House, again at the Gold Coast, I had one of the best steaks I've ever eaten, my wife liked that too, plus we had two appetizers, steak tartare, and shrimp cocktail, both were excellent.
Speaking of the Ping Pang Pong, the Gold Coast did a magnificent improvement by moving it to a brand new location and it looks really fantastic. More upscale looking and better control of the lines that are ever present.
