Comped Rooms and Resort fees

I still don't understand how a place can give you a comped room, then turn around and charge you a resort fee. Got offer from Venetian for comp rooms, then they said a $40 resort fee. I said that isn't waived for a comped room and they said no. I said have a nice day....LOL

They are what they are. The casinos charge them, it's up to you if you want to pay them. Most casinos waive resort fees for their top tier players. Ask yourself this- If The Ventetian had sent you an offer for $40 a night, no resort fees would you accept it? There is no right answer, it's a personal choice. I have a friend who drove from Vegas to Laughlin for a three day weekend. Upon check in he as told there was a $10 a night resort fee. He blew up, and refused to pay it. Got in his car and was leaving town when he realized he was blowing his long weekend over $30, and sheepishly returned.

Tell your friend to stay at the Aquarius. They proudly advertise NO RESORT FEE!

My comped room for 2 nights at the DTG was very cool! They waived the resort fees for those 2 nights. I'm a Boyd's boy. Stay on the strip? Why? I don't rent a car, if I stay down town. My last strip stay was at Harrah's WAY B-4 they had resort fees. I can take the deuce to the strip,If I want to. I'm good for about 5 miles of walking and then I'm done. The resort fees DO make me angry,when I don't intend to use any of that. Exercise room? I get plenty of that,just walking around! Want to use a free stair stepper? See how long you can walk up the "down" escalator B-4 the security dude tells you NOT to. I lasted about 5 minutes at the MSS. Maybe they wouldn't see me as well at the California. On the strip,it's easy.It's outside! Maybe not in this heat!
