Left for Downstream this past Friday. Took truck instead of motorcycle, even though the weather was beautiful. Casino was giving away a 16 piece set of dishes and I had no way to transport em on motorcycle.
I had a $100 freeplay coupon for my previous weeks play. I had over $1,300 in comp points that I can convert to $1,300 in freeplay. I also receive an additional $115 in freeplay weekly. Which they occasionally will up to $150 per week. I have received coupons as much as $250 in free play in the past. I was broadly estimating the amount of free play I receive in a year, a conservative guess $8,000.
Friday they had several cash drawings, No luck for me but I had 3 friends that won lesser prizes of $500 in non-negotiable plaques. Unlike some other casinos, you keep the plaques until you lose em. I played several hours of Pai Gow intermingled with different sessions on slots and VP. Burning through $600 in freeplay I turned into $500 cash winnings. Pai Gow was not so kind and I retired to the room at midnight a net loss of $200.
Saturday morning I made a pot of coffee in the room. They had given me a King suite, which one of the subtle differences is a suite has a 12 cup carafe coffee maker and a room comes with a single cup coffee maker. Also the shampoo, conditioner, etc. are super sized in the suites. Had a cinnamon roll with my coffee. I played 7-card ultimate until the Pai Gow table opened at 11:00, losing $300. Pai Gow was good to me letting me recoup my $500 and winning another $300. in less than 30 minutes.. I'm now $100 net winner for he trip and I'm elated. A friend and I go to the Buffet for lunch. I check out at 12 noon. I have to stay till they give out the dishes at 3:30. I play more Pai Gow, a little slots, VP and 45 minutes playing 1-2 NL in the poker room. My net winnings for the trip is $900 and a really nice set of dishes. I'll be returning on Tuesday.
