Several weeks since my last post. I go to the Downstream on a weekly basis. The free play is one of the factors that is influential on my returning every week. Just a few highlights on the last 4 weeks of gambling. I had called hotel reservations to reserve a room. like so many times they are booked up and they will connect me to VIP services. Leaving a voice mail I ask for a room. I then text my Host asking for a room. before she responds, VIP services returns my call and give me a room. Being a simple man, I ask for a standard room. My host text's me back informing me It's a holiday weekend and they have no rooms. I awkwardly text my host telling her VIP services has hooked me up with a room. I get to the hotel and they put me in a suite. compliments of my host. I stay one day and one night and leave $900 winner. My next trip is the following week, one day before the wife and I and 3 of our grandkids leave for a road trip to Colorado. The gambling is non eventful with me leaving with a profit of $700. One interesting side note, My host put me up in another suite. The next week. I return to the Downstream. I'm on my motorcycle. I travel light with just a backpack. I check into my room. with a little paranoia. I keep a wary eye out for the K9 that is seen very frequently with it's handler. I did mention that I had just returned from Colorado. My gambling is good for the first day. I'm $1,000 up when I retire early to the room. I wake up around midnight and return to the Pai Gow table. I retire back to the room at 6:30 in the morning. My net loss is $3,800. I check out of the room at 12 noon. I take my backpack to the concierge for safe keeping while I gamble more. while in the casino I spot the K9 with it's handler going through the casino. I hurriedly return to the concierge, stopping only long enough to ask the dog handler what the dog's name is, It's name is Voodoo. I retrieve my backpack and take it out to my motorcycle. I return to gambling. It's getting rather late and I do not ride 90 miles after dark. I get another room for the night. The next day I check out, my net loss for this gambling session is $3,400, recouping $400 from the previous day's losses. I did accomplish maintaining my gold card status by earning 15,000 points this week. One interesting note, After checking out of my room. My food and beverage comp that comes with the room is no longer valid. I go to the pit boss and get a comp for two for the buffet. I invite a friend to the buffet. The cashier at the buffet says I'm only allowed one buffet. I don't want to argue because there is a very long line behind me and I do get line privileges having gold card status. I pay for the friends buffet with cash. I rectify this later with my host and the Buffet manager. This week I check in as usual, I do ask the girls at VIP check-in, if the K9 is sniffing for explosives or drugs, she replies, "all of the above, for all three dogs". I go to the VIP lounge to find my host. I ask her why the casino sent me a free play coupon for only $60, ( in addition to the weekly $115 automatic freeplay). When after a heavy three days of gambling action from the week before normally gives me up to $250 freeplay coupon. She apologizes, blaming it on the marketing department. She gives me $100 in chips to make amends. I leave the casino $1,000 winner, thanks partially to getting a straight flush on Pai Gow.
