There was a couple of situations that happened at the Downstream that impacted me so much I can't sop thinking about it. I will describe the incident at the end of this missive. Yesterday, I jumped on the Honda Fury to make the trip to Downstream. I had just returned the day before, and I wanted to participate in a multiplier for entries for a drawing on the 29th. Monday is the multiplier for entries and Tuesday is the multiplier for points. My multiplier for Monday is 8x. I increased my entries from 5,200 to almost 11,000.
Played a total of 4 hours of Pai Gow. I know there is no real fact or reason for streaks. That each hand is freshly shuffled the house edge is the same. I swear if the dealer is hot they will have a streak of unbeatable hands. The same goes for your hands. I played probably a total of 6 sessions that day. and left a winner every session. Would play out the winning streaks and take a break when the cards turned. With my $115 free play at the slots. $70 winner, and My Pai Gow winnings, I hit the sack at midnight $500 up.
Tuesday morning, I swipe my and wife's card. I get 6x she gets 4x. points. I play two machines with each card to accumulate points on both. What usually happens, one machine will win and the other will lose. Today I was playing a 100 play VP and an ultimate Deuces wild 10 play and won on both $150 total. I also played Neptune, Red Ruby and roulette machines.
they opened up the Pai Gow table at 11 am. I'm the first player there. Soon joined by a couple of guys I don't know. It's funny how different strategies are played. Cautious players only play the main bet. will play for long times without winning or losing much , pushing most of the bets. some play the main with bonus bet, never playing the insurance. Others play main with bonus and insurance. I play $100 main 20 on insurance and 10 on bonus. I left Tuesday at 3:30 pm, Good gambling leaving winner $1,100 I accumulated 12,000 points which equals $120.
The incidents/ 7pm Monday I go to Casino convenience store to fill up motorcycle with gas comp. I'm sitting on bench talking on cell phone with wife. A girl gets out of car and walks over to me and says hi. I know her from a couple of casinos she had dealt at.
she sits down. I know a little bit of this girl's story. Lots of sadness, hardship despair.. She tells me she's been fired on top of having serious health problems. In and out of hospitals. Her cars transmission is shot so she walking and hitching rides. We talk and I try to be comforting and encouraging. I say "You once gave me a winning hand and I forgot to tip you, I'd like to tip you now" I give her $40, which she does not want I make her take it. She starts to cry saying how scared she is and how she's too young to die. My heart was breaking . I leave , go back to casino wishing had done more.
Nest morning another lady comes up to me inside the casino and starts telling me a sad story involving broke down cars and being broke, walking from truck sop to casino 5 miles. her feet did have blisters. I buy her breakfast and bid her farewell. Later she comes to me at Pai Gow table and is telling how the cops have impounded her car and she needs 94 dollars to get her car. Security comes up and tells her to not be asking for money. she lies says she is not, I lie and say she is not. she leaves. 29 minutes later security returns asks me I f I know her. I say Just from buying her breakfast. They say she tells it like we are friends and go to the same church. I think she is mentally ill.
Headed back to Downstream Saturday.
