New Restrictions and Searches to enter LV Casinos?

I have seen some news stories that in light of the recent shootings, the casinos are now searching bags and purses of people entering casinos as well as "wanding" people. Can anyone confirm this? I saw video of hundreds of people in line (waiting to be searched before entering the Wynn). Do you want to wait an hour in line to get in to gamble, then wait for an hour at the next casino, a couple of hours later? As many people do, I carry a leatherman tool in my purse and a TINY knife (inch and a half blade) on my keyring. Not to mention having strangers grope my bankroll. They are even talking that housekeepers will be instructed to "look around a room" when they go in to service it with towels and supplies. Typically if you had things put away out of sight, they would not be disturbed. If a housekeeper is going to open drawers there will be trouble. They are even talking about doing away with do not disturb signs. Just what you want when you have been up until 3 am, to have housekeeping coming in at 8am to service your room. I have a trip planned for next month. I was determined to not give in to fear and cancel the trip. But if there are so many restrictions placed on patrons to enter each casino. I have made my last trip. Imagine having to go through essentially TSA lines at each casino you wanted to visit. No more spending the day wandering in and out of casinos as Lady Luck leads you to try your luck. Does anyone have some intel on this situation?
I have not seen any of those things. If you saw a video of hundreds of people waiting on line at Wynn, it was most likely the line to get into one of their clubs.
The casino I frequent the most has as standard policy, K-9 sweep in casino and hotel lobby. A posting on entry declares that "as a protection for our guests, this property uses K-9 detection for firearms." If you enter the casino with backpack or luggage they will search it and ask you to go directly to hotel. It is the only one that I've seen K-9's.
Bags have been inspected in hotels in Europe and other places for a long time. My experience has been when you walk into a hotel, they put it through an xray machine and you are done. I have never had to wait to get this done and the delay is maybe a minute or two. It sort of made me feel better actually. However, in LV where is had taken 90 minutes to check in at Luxor or Flamingo or TI, this could be an issue, that is is you have no status of course.

Was in the Courtyard between Harrahs and The Linq the other day and was surprise to see a guard with what I took to be a bomb sniffing dog making a sweep. I asked the bartender and he, quite rightly, told me they were not allowed to discuss changes in security.
Dogs doing a walk around don't bother me. I am pretty sure the dog isn't going to steal from me, and will keep his mouth shut if he sniffs something odd, but not dangerous, in my purse. Not hold up personal items for inspection and for everyone around to see (had that happen with TSA) Hotel staff going through my luggage, especially when I am not in the room IS an issue. So is telling me I have to open the door to housekeeping first thing in the morning when I am on vacation and have been gambling in the casino downstairs until 3 am.
I suspect if you have a DND sign out housekeeping should not bother you in the AM. If you have one on all day they may knock on your door in the afternoon, but they should not really do that either. I do not care if they open my door to just to a quick check to ensure the room is in good order and there is nothing horrible inside even with a DND in the afternoon.. Touching my stuff is another story I agree with you Miss.
