11 Ways Las Vegas Casinos Will Change After the Shutdown

I just read an article at Las Vegas Review Journal about the strip and other casinos around the country. What it will look like when business start back up. Carlo Santarelli a gaming analyst with Deutsche Bank in NY said, that with social distancing at the casino when starting back up will mean fewer customers at table games.  Such as maybe 3 players at a Blackjack table and every other slot/vp shut down, 50% of slots would be operating.  More table games may be manned but with fewer players means higher costs.  He said that table game would have to have higher minimums.  The analyst suggested that table game minimums start in Regional casinos (out of Las Vegas) at $25 and the Strip at $50 stating that minimums bets lower than that would be unprofitable.  Well if this is true guess who won’t be going to the casinos when they reopen, sorry I’m a $5 to $15 player my bank roll won’t support those higher minimums.  We go to Las Vegas every year however this article mentioned that the Buffets and pools will be closed, and I bet the casinos will still gouge us with their RESORT FEEs and PARKING FEEs.  No thank you, I’ll wait and to be quite honest our local Tribal Casino treats us quite well.

3 people playing a $10 table might not be profitable.   But zero people playing a $50 table is even less profitable.

I sure dont want to be among the first customers to hit Vegas upon reopening.   Hopefully by December things will be somewhat back to normal.   Somewhat.

My prediciton is parking fees disappear on the strip....and room rates (even with resort fees) will be the lowest you've seen since 2009.

Like addicts just out of rehab, visitors will be back. They just won't have the disposable funds to fuel their addictions.
