6 days 20 hrs until we depart for Vegas!

Our goal has been to visit Las Vegas at least once a year since Jim completed chemo for lung cancer in 2006. Since he wasnt to have long, I figured the first trip would be the only one. Well, its been 6 and a half years since our first trip and looking forward to another! We only missed 2 years. One when his mother died, and last year for health reasons. We had planned on going this spring but he had a stroke and while i was at the hospital having him checked i ended up in the er with severe pancreatitis! We were both in at the same time. At least they finally moved him to my room. sORRY...RAMBLING. ANYWAY i am trying to catch up on everyones posts as i get more and more excited about the trip. I am still amazed that we STILL get free rooms even though we are penny, quarter slot players and havent been there in a year! I wont question it...just enjoy it! Mirage for sat and sun, and flamingo mon till thur. Havent stayed at either and this is the first time for a Harrahs property as we usually stay at an MGM Mirage property. Looking forward to seeing the old and the new and taking in some shows.

As for still receiving offers, I think that it's because being penny and quarter slot players, you are facing what the casinos view to be a high enough advantage and also, there definitely are casinos who after a while will send out kind of "We Miss You" offer to come back and visit them.

I'd say that they do that less for regular players who they know will come basically no matter what.

Thanks. Very true about the offers. I read often about other players, mostly vp who arent high rollers, who dont get free rooms. We havent paid for a room since our first visit in 2006 and we have been there 6 times and one of those times was for 8 days. We enjoy slot because of the entertainment value. We dont have the bankroll to grind away at vp in order to get ahead. As it is, all times except one we returned with most if not all or more of our gambling money! And we end up playing a lot of hours just for the fun of it! In between eating, sightseeing and shows of course. :-).
