Airport Security Questions

The entire discussion in this thread has been about airport security, run by the TSA. You are the one who claimed the pecker checkers (full body scanners) are safe, but dismissed the differences in treatment of airport employees and flight crews based on TSA screening processes regarding airport employment and/or access to secure areas. You are the one who claimed the TSA properly and thoroughly screens everyone who has secure access to our airports all the way down to the burger and fries folks. You dismiss actual evidence of TSA screening negligence of flight school operations at the ownership and student level as changing the subject. Not all TSA employees are properly trained. I check the TSA website on a regular basis and have found on occasion to know more about their regulations than the people screening me. I tell them what the rules really are, and they subject me to a variety of additional screening for pointing out that they don't know what I do about their rules. These things are all related. I know it's impossible for you to admit you are wrong about this. The "no one contends the TSA is infallible" is lip service CYA on your part. You've done nothing but suggest that everything they do is right and proper.
I've made my points plainly and directly, with links and references. Clearly you don't understand what I'm saying. Maybe bullets help you:
  • After weeks of trying, you've still not given us anything to support your claim that the modern full-body scanners now deployed at American airports have not been properly tested (unfounded paranoia is not support).

  • I've shown you the links which conclusively prove that the scanners now deployed at airports throughout the USA are safe to human health. You either didn't read them or don't believe them.

Alanleroy addressed both of those points on the second page of this thread. You ignored it. And, you are right, I don't believe data that can be manipulated to support a predisposed end result based upon an agenda driven conclusion.

I told you to check the ATL website concerning airport employment. Your response was "I don't care if the ATL website says Rihanna is a mollusk." If you believe that the TSA doesn't just check off on some/many private business contractor job screenings, you are blind.

  • I've given you the link to a TSA website showing that TSA screens every airport worker. You either didn't read it or won't believe it.

And I provided a link to proof that the TSA hasn't fully screened every flight school, licensed pilot or flight school student. The TSA focus on the average traveler instead of those who could in fact duplicate 9/11 by exempting airport employees and flight crews from the same daily scanning processes is negligence.

It doesn't matter to you that your points have all already been refuted. You should indeed just move on.

The last couple times we flew ( and it's been a while ) was on charters and the pat downs were near non-existent, mostly just a wanding actually, as they were just starting this.. We are flying to Vegas commercially this time and i have what may seem like a silly question but one i am going to ask anyway.

First, you need to know that i have a huge problem with the way these patdowns are done in the first place. I really don't care what anyone thinks about my attitude toward it but, another man touching me like that has kept me off planes for several years now. My wife has just this year managed to talk me into a trip to Vegas that doesn't involve a drive from Ohio. I find it highly invasive and disgusting regardless of the reason.

That being said i have given and am going. My question is this. To avoid as much of this male feeling up as possible, and considering it is summer, i am planning on wearing shorts, a pull-over shirt, and sandles for the flight.

Are there any rules against this type of attire on flights now?

damn, you must be very good looking if men are taking low paying jobs just for the chance to feel you up.

Must be that there has been a lot of stored up anxiety that needed to be released since the political threads were zapped.

dgp, you may like the touchy feely you get, however, most of us don't.

nah. im just not as self absorbed to think that someone doing their job means they are turned on by me.
Nice dgp. Nice. Nothining better to add to the discussion than to disparrage someone you have never met (and never will) and know nothing about. Well, we all know all we need to about you now don't we. Good day to you!

its not the least bit surprising to see that someone that over reacts to a pat down, would also respond irrationally to my posts.
dgp- patdowns USED to be Worse. Especially when you Opted-Out, which I did to avoid
the nudi-scope.

Now that most airports have you going thru the good old Metal detector..........OR, the 3 sec. scanner
(name I don't recall) its not as bad.

Nemisis, try not to worry. The new version of 3 sec scanner only shows a Dot on a stick figure IF theres
anyplance on your person that needs extra checking. Otherwise they wave you thru.

If I have a hairclip or necklace on? It shows the yellow dot (I always turn around and LOOK at the
stick figure picture that TSA are looking at) on my Hairclip or necklace area........they look at it, and
thats about it. They say "oh its a necklace" and say I'm done, and I leave the area.

So your full body pat down rarely happens anymore.
