Any Tips on getting around with leg in a cast?

Heading out for NYE on 12/29.
Unfortunately my wife broke her ankle 5 nights ago and will be in a cast during our entire trip.
Right now she is on crutches and sees the Dr. on 12/23.We are still planning on going and have arranged for wheelchairs at the airport but have not figured out the hotels.
We are staying at Aria and the thought of going down those long halls on crutches is freaking her out.
We have dinner reservations outside the hotel a couple nights and have not figured out how that is going to go in cabs.
Any ideas will be appreciated.
Rent her a scooter. Call the hotel and let them no your needs and try to get a room closer to the elevators.
Yes, there are Scooter rental places around Las Vegas, so check out that option!

Most (probably all) hotels have wheelchairs available for use by guests. They are usually available from the bell desk. They also get you to the front of those buffet lines quick.

I have been to Vegas on both a walker and crutches, these trips were before scooters were easily available.
Do not hesitate to get one. Have it waiting at your hotel. They fold small enough for a cab trunk and are accommodated at all casinos, restaurants, shows etc. Tell the hotel ahead of time that you will need a handicap access bathroom, they are often bigger and nicer.

Most importantly go and have fun. Many temporarily handicapped people are to embarrassed to ask for special treatment but you will find everyone is happy to help. This would also be a good trip to treat her to an afternoon spa treatment.

Good luck and have fun
Since the Strip is closed to vehicular traffic on NYE, that means that there are thousands of pedestrians everywhere.

It would probably not be very wise to venture out on the Strip with crutches or a wheelchair on NYE.

If a scooter is not available, you might just consider a wheelchair and you can push her wherever you are going. It's not a big deal as long as you are planning on spending your time in "together" activities. A wheelchair is much easier to pack in your car and ramps and elevators are almost everywhere. If she has a scooter and you are walking, you might wind up chasing her as those things move along pretty quickly.

Unless you have some condition that would make it difficult for you to push her around, then it's not all that hard.

Have a good time,

Thanks for all the suggestions. She had to have it surgically repaired yesterday. The doc thinks she might be able to put a little weight on it by Thurs. but we are still planning on wheelchairs and maybe a scooter.

No Strip for us on NYE.Two times was enough.Partying at Aria!
Hope everyone has a Happy New Year!
I should say that another good thing about your wife having a scooter instead of a wheelchair is that the scooter would allow her more freedom in case she wanted to do something or go somewhere different than you!

Definitely get a scooter. She can adjust her speed to your walking speed. Make sure and take the charger with you everywhere and plug it in when you can. Those things are great, but don't have the distance they claim for using all day without a top off charge. You can find an outlet on every casino floor as they use them for the vacuum cleaners.
