Anybody been to Pahrump

We always stay at Downtown Vegas but took a day trip to Laughlin last year. We may do the same this year but wondered if anyone has been to Pahrump before. Is it Mom and Pop Casinos or worth the time to travel there?

We did it years ago, it's a good day trip. We went to the winery and had lunch and I'm sure we stopped in at a casino but I can't remember which one now! We used to do day trips a lot when we rented cars on our trips. We don't rent them as often now.

Is "Mom and Pops casino" a special way of saying "The chicken Ranch Brothel and Emporium"?

I'm referring to Gas Station or really small type Casinos.

It's a nice ride. I stopped in three casinos. I think there is a fourth, but the three are right near each other. There three are owned by the folks from PTs, according to the boothling. I didn't see any really small casinos. The three I was in were roughly the size of Ellis Island.
The town, itself, is bigger than I expected. Think Bullhead as opposed to Laughlin.
I didn't visit the winery, but did stop by the Mountain Springs Saloon on the way back.

It's a great drive, good chance of seeing wild burros in the pass. Nugget is a decent casino, last time I was there they had $2 craps 5X. So beautiful desert, brothels and AMAZING firework stores. I love me some 3X break mortars!

We did it 2 years ago and it was worth the trip...nice break from Vegas. Visited 2 of the casinos and they were nice (although we didn't win anything).
