Anyone do the time share stuff?

I got burned on one a few years ago at the jockey club. just a bunch of lies!!! I just booked at Flamingo and they offered a Windam deal at Harrahs that seemed OK. Any you suggest or one that I should stay away from. I am doing this for chips but would like to do one for shows.
Wyndham is a hard sell. They'll promise you the moon but they will deliver whatever they promise.
I'm a Wyndham owner. I bought mine on ebay for 1/20th what Wyndham sells them for, by the way. If you like what you see, go to ebay of TUG and buy there.
I paid under $500 for $177,000 points. Those contracts run about $25,000 these days.
We got burned too at Jockey Club!
We have sat through a lot of these mostly at the Grandview. They last a lot longer than advertised. We stopped doing it a couple of years ago because we have no intention of buying another timeshare (we own in Tunica, MS) and I felt since we were doing the drill under false pretenses just to get the gifts it became a little immoral in my mind.

I've done the Grand View twice. I thought they were last pressure than Wyndham. My last Wyndham adventure, two minutes in the guy told me to leave. I said give me my $100. He said I had to stay the whole ninety minutes for it.
I pulled out a book and said I'd stay and meanwhile he was stuck not selling to the next people on line. His boss came over after about twenty minutes to tell me I was wasting their time. I said i'd leave as soon as they gave me my $100.
THe one time I declined a presentation at Grand View, I was woken up four days in a row by people trying to get me to attend.
I have heard somebody do a similar thing. Once the presentation started he started his stop watch and put on his headphones. They asked him to not to do that and he replied loudly ".... I was told I had to be here for 90 minutes and that's how long I will wait to get my my free gift" They quickly escorted him off the property using a back door and gave him his gift. The only thing they did not fulfill was the payment for the cab ride back.

See, that is even more dishonest than the time share company promising higher quality gifts than expected.

That guy knew he would not be buying. The presenters are doing a job, just like anyone else. They aren't responsible for the value of the gifts. It is a tough business, and out of 20 legitimately curious suckers they might get one fish on the line.

Don't waste their time, or yours.
When I was down in Mexico, I asked one of the locals why everyone was trying to get us into a time share. It did not matter if you were in a store looking for a souvenir or buying a drink, all these establishments seemed to have a small desk setup to reel you into the time shares. He told me that if he can get a couple to show up and attend the "90 minute" presentation he would receive about $300 USD. From that $300 USD, he had to pay for your incentive such as free golf, scuba diving, dinner or etc. He also mentioned that he got a very good discount on all those incentives which he had to purchase to lure the customers in.

I then asked him what the conversion rate was and I must say it was incredible what he said. He told me that on average that 20% of the people purchased a time share after the presentation. Wow...........

These people lie for a living. They sucker the elderly and the unsophisticated. Screw them. I'll take them for every dime I can and enjoy it.
I must be dull, I never understood how paying so much for the right to a week in a hotel was somehow worth more than the cost of a week in a hotel.
