Bellagio to Ellis Island

Trying to plan itinerary and want to see Bellagio fountains and Bellagio Conservatory/Botanical Gardens then head over to Ellis Island and use the 2 for 1 entree at Ellis Island cafe. The plan is to hit Bellagio around 11:00 pm and head over to Ellis Island sometime after midnight. Is it safe to walk to Ellis Island from Bellagio at night and if so then do we go through Ballys or Paris and exit the back side of Ballys/Paris or do we simply take Flamingo down to Koval Ln. Only husband and wife making the trek. How long of a walk is this too? Thanks for any help!
Its about a half mile walk down Flamingo from the Strip. The Tuscany and Westin Causarina are next door and worth visiting too. The Causarina usually has pretty good sign up deals for new folks.

I've made the walk at night and felt perfectly safe but I've heard others say the oppositte. Its a very well trafficked road so I find it hard to believe you would be attacked with 100 cars passing by.
I don't think that an Elvis wanna be impersonator would be bothered by anyone, anywhere at any time of the day.
The most perilous, and I use the term loosely, portion might be along Koval between EI and Flamingo. It just feels a little more desolate than walking along Flamingo. I really wouldn't be too concerned.

Keep in mind that 11:00 is still pretty early in Vegas, so you're more likely to feel uneasy leaving EI, depending on how late you stay there.

If you're nervous about walking, take the overpass from Bellagio to Bally's and catch a cab there. That will only cost you a few bucks.

Walk it all the time. Perfectly safe IMO.
Thanks for all the input. Sounds like I might make the walk there and then take a cab when leaving back to Venetian where we are staying. Unfortunately can't take the monrail back because it will be closing at midnight during the week in late June that we are visiting.
We've walked there and back several times but not that late. There is usually at least one or two scruffy individuals sitting along the curb or wherever having a beer or something along the route.
It's not that far, maybe a little over 1 mile, if that.
I've walked to there a few times, but not late night.

Here's an idea, grab a cab from Bellagio.
It can't be much more than $10, but probably not even.

Rick

As you start this walk, if you want a slice of local flavor, go have a drink at the liquor store/bar right behind Bills and across from the back of Ballys. I think its called "Stage Door Casino" or something like that. They have a big sign that says "Just signed a 25 year lease, We're not going anywhere!"
Bartenders and dealers like to stop by after their shift for a drink and some VP. Its basically a convenience store with a bar, but always had fun.

marko..
Most bums mean no harm, I have little fear. I would be more afraid of some local thug laying for you. Even this is not that common.
