Best time to vist?

Aside from the Christmas rush where they virtually give rooms away and the dead of summer when it's 115 degrees in the shade, when is the best time to visit LV (read: least expensive?). I've heard vacation weeks are good. Not the actual long weekends, but the weeks immediately following, say Labor Day and Memorial Day weeks, starting with the Tuesday. Californians back home, good weather and the place pretty much to yourself, comparitively speaking. Yeah or nay?

Thanksgiving week is also a good time to visit = per your criteria.

Vegas is not as crowded as it used to be. Weekends are still busy. Other than that just check the calendar for major conventions and events (ie) Super Bowl. All that aside I dont think you have to suffer with crowds too much. On a typical midweek night there are alot more rooms than people to fill them.

Yes, as pjstroh said, do what you can to avoid when there are major conventions or special events such as the Super Bowl, March Madness and big Boxing Matches as well as things such as the Consumer Electronics Show, Global Gaming Expo and the National Finals Rodeo.
