I can agree with everything except the shows, we used to see them many years ago but now we enjoy walking, visiting downtown and doing a few "coupon" runs. We usually head downtown in the AM (Main Street Sation for breakfast) I'm not a fan of all the "sidewalk" characters but have seen the FSE numerous times on other years. Last year the NFR was so crowed downtown it was hard to move.
love the Glitter Pix but sad to see Glitter Gulch is gone. (They were tearing it down last year)

There are definetely different kinds of visitors. One wants to get drunk every day, and party-up, the other one seeks cheap buffets, one wants the expensive luxury available at most top casinos on the Strip, and some want good gamble. The variety is huge , as huge as the city itself, so there's something for everybody. Once you know what you want you can start your research. I have been visiting L-V for approx 30 years now, 2-3x per year, and I found my thing. Just so many others returning to Vegas on a regular basis. However, we all have different ideas about how to spend our time and money. I think there is no right or wrong. It's just how we like it :)

Yes, I can't add anymore categories of people to the list mentioned by Boris. All Belong from one of those category.
I'll guess that most of the visitors fit into one or more of those catagories.
My musts:
Good Gamble
Cheap eats.
Reasonable room rates.
Location.
Not in that order.
One of my musts as someone who lives on the East Coast and has been going there for many years as well is take a day to GET OUT OF VEGAS... I will go to Mesquite or Parumph or St. George or Laughlin, Valley of Fire, Red Rock or Oatman just to see that side of the land for a day trip. I have time to do that since I usually go for at least 1 week.
