BRAND NEW Vegas TV Show on Travel Channel!!!

Just came on. 10 pm EST. It's called "Vegas: Stripped" and it's like the show that was based at GVR but this is based on South Point. It's about the casino 5 miles from the strip that competes with the "big boys." I hope it's good. First 5 minutes is so-so, but I'm just glad there's a new Vegas show!
Oh, good! Thanks for the tip, FFlowers! I'll keep my eyes open for it in the future!

I did visit there once upon a time quite a while ago, while it was still called South Coast and it seemed like a nice place but for me it was just too out of the way for me.

I know that they have some good VP plays, but I like to be able to walk from casino to casino with decent plays around (which leaves me in much better shape to do that in Downtown).

But I do like casino shows. I liked "American Casino" (which was about GVR) and "The Casino" (which was about Golden Nugget). And so I'm looking forward to seeing this show as well!

Thanks for the info FFlowers! I will be watching.
Hey Group,

There are now some clips from this show on the Travel Channel website which is at: https://www.travelchannel.com and then in the search function you can type in "Vegas Stripped."

Thanks for the tip!

My quick story about one of the "characters" from "American Casino".... not to long after it went off the air I was in the Hooters Casino playing BJ and for some reason the Pit boss looked really familiar and even his name - I kept thinking "i know this guy from somewhere"... eventually I talked to him a bit asking where he was from, where he used to work, etc... come to find out he had been on the show! I dont remember name or position he was on the show but just thought I'd share.

He did say after the 2nd season (I think) there was a lot of turnover and that was a big reason for the cancellation of the show.
I imagine there's a fair amount of scripting going on - - but the purchasing guy in the cowboy hat seems to be pretty funny all on his own.
I saw the first two episodes but didn't really find any of the "characters" too interesting. I'll keep watching just for the Vegas aspect of it all....and who knows, maybe it'll grow on me....but so far the personalities on the show make Al Gore seem interesting.
I did read in another thread here in the Kitchen Sink Message Board that the rest of the episodes are being shown by Travel Channel on the next two Saturdays with the third and fourth episodes being aired tomorrow (2/18) and the fifth and sixth episodes being aired on Saturday 2/25. So check that out!

Further edited to add: I'm now seeing through my Cable Guide that the episodes will be airing from 2-3PM Pacific Time (and probably 2-3 PM Eastern Time) tomorrow, Saturday, February 18th.

The guy from the show American Casino that became a pit boss at Hooters Casino was Dave DeMontmollin (sp?). I saw him in Hooters a year or so after the show was cancelled. He was probably the youngest person on the show and mostly organized slot promotions but there was one episode where he turned his apartment on the strip into an ultralounge. He lived in Polo Towers or the Jockey Club, I believe. I also heard him interviewed on the radio here in San Diego promoting a book about Vegas he had written. I don't remember the title but it emphasized fun Vegas trips for bachelors. I also saw the book in Barnes and Noble but that was a few years back.

T.H.
Have watched a few of the episodes. I realize they need to try things to bring people there but from what I have seen the people who show up for the special events dont necessarily stay and use the casino. The people from the beer pong event hung around and annoyed people in the casino. Most of them were totally blitzed. Would not want to be near them.

My overall impression is I would try to avoid this place when they are having some of their special events.
