Honestly, I think these people running these " resorts " have lost their minds. They probably aren't going to be able to get steady international visitors until early 2022 if they are lucky. Las Vegas will never recover to pre covid visitor levels until 2024. Just my opinion of course, as nobody really knows. But the news just keeps getting worse daily, doesn't it ?. I am chomping at the bit to get out for a change of scenery, and want to drive to Las Vegas and stay for a couple of months . But, for a city that keeps blabbering on about needing visitors, they sure as heck aren't doing anything to convince me that its a good value during these times.
I know I'm preaching to the choir but the fact that parking has EVER been charged is abhorrent to me. I could understand in some places like downtown where parking is at a little more of a premium, but there is absolutely no shortage of parking on or near the strip. I have an MGM rewards credit card now, no annual fee, which includes free parking at MGM resorts; without that, I just can't see paying to park anyplace on the strip. I know it would be cutting off my nose to spite my face but it turns my stomach to think of paying to park at a place where I am statistically expected to lose money anyway! And it's not about the money itself, it's the principle; I'd rather buy $20 worth of food for homeless people than pay $10 to park at a casino.
