Caesers bought out and going private

https://www.reviewjournal.com/business/casinos-gaming/caesars-entertainment-to-be-acquired-by-fertitta-entertainment-3830210/

Tilman Fritatta - the guy who owns Golden Nugget - is buying them.     Make of that what you will.

From the WSJ.

The companies said the deal will be funded through Fertitta equity, assumed Caesars debt, and debt financing from a group of 10 banks

Note the last part of the above; more debt.  Expect some sales to bring the debt level down

Barry Diller is interested in MGM.

might be a new world in the strip

Or it could be what Roger Daltrey once sang, "Meet the new boss. Same as the old Boss."

The positive thing about private ownership is no need to answer to shareholders who demand growth.

You can actually implement profit reducing policies without being scolded by the street.     That would be things like more comps, more player friendly gaming, getting rid of stupid fees like parking.

Whether or not he does that we'll see.   He hasnt done much of that at Golden Nugget

I think the bigger win might be at the nationwide Caesers casinos.    If you think the ones in Vegas are shitty go to your local Caesers casino anywhere outside NV.    They cant get worse.

LVA and other websites pay a LOT of attention to which suits own/acquire the various casinos, but really, it matters not. Look at how many times some element of The Gouge, whether it's 6:5 shitjack, paid parking, resort fees, players' club decimations, high table minimums, etc. etc. was implemented almost simultaneously by all the Vegas casinos, especially the Strip megatoilets. Did they compete with one another? No. They colluded.

So when Gutboy Barrelhouse leaves his position of General Mangler at the Golden Commode to become Head of Player Exploitation at the Porcine Palace, the new boss really is the same as the old boss. But...we will get fooled again! People will still flock to the gouge joints, because...people are stupid.

Good Morning Black Jack.  Your post could be considered a personal attack, which is not allowed (usually) on LVA outside of the Sink.  Just thought you should know.  Have a great day.
