Wondering what others have given their hosts in appreciation for their efforts. We have a great host and are looking for ideas - gift basket? store gift card? Thanks !!

chyna..........let me guess........................you're a host?
Too funny !!! No I really am not a host - just looking for ideas ...... You have me laughing though.

funny stuff CLV/ LOL

Never again... never again..
got my host a Tiffany Elsa Perretti necklace at the old Aladdin.
I mailed it to her after my stay. Try and mail something to someone in a casino is a nightmare.
She finally got it-3 weeks of tracking it, calling the hotel, fretting it got stolen....
and never heard from her again/ she got fired or left but never called me if she did move to another host job . Grrrr

Here's the unwritten or maybe written rule- nothing over $100.00.
Starbucks/Dunkin Donuts gift card- Macys as a thank you, or something local from your neck o the woods....
but for me? my mere return customer gambling presences will have to do
Good one, CLV.
I give my host a gift about once every other year. Gifts I recall:
$50 Macy's gift card (didn't even get a thanks for this...haven't given her a gift since.)
$60 live orchid plant for her desk (she loved this and even mentioned to me on a subsequent trip that she still has it on her desk)
$40 on a flying helicopter toy for her one son (age 11) and a Domino's Pizza gift certificate for her other son who was starting college. I thought that since she always gets the gifts, maybe her kids would appreciate getting something instead. She loved it.
I have known this host for about 15 years.

For our male hosts, we usually get them a tie since they have to wear suit all the time. I alternate between novelty ties with a gambling theme (dice, cards, etc) and normal ties that go well with dark suits.

For female hosts we usually provide gift cards. In all cases we keep the dollar amount at around $25.00

We like to give the gifts along with a thank you card at the end of our trip.

Just look in the classifieds of the LVRJ and get them an inexpensive puppy or kitten.
I read somewhere that casino Hosts are inundated with gifts from players: gift cards, candy, ties, colognes, jewelry, scarves, etc., and often pool the items for employee party favors/drawings etc.

So I quit worrying about it (after numerous gifts and not always having them acknowledged...especially by male Hosts--don't moms teach sons to send thank you notes?).

I'm sure some still appreciate the effort.

I figure I'm doing the Host a favor. They don't have to send me a thank you note, if they are so inclined
I bought my host a Mecedez S350, but he did comp me 2 buffets at the Excalibur so it was well worth it!
