Casinos Sending Surveys to Figure Out Why You’re So Annoyed With Vegas

Did you get one of these surveys?

Casinos Sending Surveys to Figure Out Why You’re So Annoyed With Vegas

wow

My only question is - why send out a survey when they already know the answer? Secondly, they will not modify anything of value, they will just give "lip service" as they continue to fleece you. Expect more asinine fees.

I've received plenty of surveys, and none look like those.  I will be surprised if they actually are from CET and MGM.

But, I think surveys ARE valuable, our opportunity to get upper level attention to a specific problem, but you have to work them.   Low ratings and very succinct descriptions get their attention, not "all this nickel and diming", which tells them nothing.   On one survey I gave "the condition of your room" the lowest rating, then typed "Windows dirty" in the text box, even though the room overall was quite nice.  I got an apologetic phone call and an email saying how they will ensure this is improved for future visits, yadda yadda, but at least it was noticed.

As for Resort Fees and paid parking, I say keep on hammering.

I will say I would never encourage "them" jack up the price of a room, in lieu of the resort fee.  What is the point of that?  JMHO.

And how about "Loosen your games back to levels seen 10-20 years ago".   Who wants to keep playing if you just lose?

Its really a pretty simple analysis.

Starting point A - a date/month were occupancy rates were high and revenue was at expected levels.

Stopping point B - a date/month were occupancy rates were lower and revenue was lower.

List all the changes in the hotel, casino, restaurants that occured between point A and point B:

- Resort fee implementation and/or increases.

- Parking fee implementation and/or increases.

- Changes to games on the casino floor: table games, video poker and slots, including the hold %.

- Changes to the players club.

- Competition. Any changes that would siphon off your customers?

- Restaurants. Price increases, decreased offerings.

Lets see...we raised the resort fee, we started charging for parking, we increased the hold on the slot machines, we decreased the paytables on video poker, we changed the coin-in needed to earn a point at the players club. Why are we loosing business??? I know lets send our customers a survey!!

It ain't rocket science!!

They aren't rocket scientist's either.

Companies do listen to surveys.    There is no law that requires them to send out surveys - they do it because they want customer feedback.   There is no guarantee they will do what you want but they will if enough people agree.

One of my new favorite hotels is Boulder Station for a variety of reasons.  One gripe is they have no room safe.  I made a note of that in the survey they sent me after my stay.  I'm hoping other guests made the same critique

Amen Don!!!
