This one has about as much chance as a lame rabbit fighting a herd of buffalo.

I wouldn't call it price-fixing anyway.  It's simply gouging.

I agree - as long as people are willing to pay, the casinos will continue to gouge - as they have done for years.

The case presents an interesting theory. Namely, since all the casinos share data with each other it's the same as meeting in person and setting prices.

OK, let's say the NEVADA courts give this the time of day. Let's really go into fairy-tale land and say that they win the suit.

The "class" that is the represented plaintiff would be everyone who ever rented a hotel room from the defendants over whatever time frame the software was used. So we're talking about millions of potential individual plaintiffs. Whatever settlement is reached would be allocated to fulfill individual claims, one by one.

So if you stayed at the Golden Commode one fine weekend in 2022, you could make a photocopy of your bill, attach it to your claim letter, and send it in to whoever's handling that end of it.

Fifteen weeks later, you would receive a check for $1.17.

The main result is it would keep the hotels from doing this in the future.
