Coming back after 3 1/2 years!

Sounds like you can use vacation Barbara.

Ive been lucky stayed at Golden Nugget years ago. Now because

my son( travel partner ) gets comps.Does lot of price matching

from work travel. We've been staying on strip.Use a lot of LVA

coupons for food and shows. Spend money yes. But I'm old

cant take it with me.

I feel the same way!! Sometimes my adult kids will accompany me, or friends, but usually I travel alone.

Will celebrate my 75th birthday next year in Vegas with a friend. That will be my April trip.  It's just a little more than a 2 hour flight from Seattle or Vancouver.  Can't bear overseas travel anymore and I am tired of cruising.

As they say, it's later than you think.  So many of my friends are gone or have health issues and can't travel.

just an fyi but my fave casino host Courtney Whitaker is returning to the rio and will be part of the new team and redevelopment of the rio hotel !!  She's so awesome

The Rio will be fabulous again.  Thanks for the info.

Disappointed in the Boyd properties. No coupons anymore in the LVA.

USD-CND at par ended yearrrrrrs ago.   A couple years ago I needed to exchange several $K in Canadian dollars and heading to Canada wasn't an option.  Stephens properties downtown offered the best rates (I think the juice was about 3-5%) on Fremont but the limit was $1K per day.

If OP is staying on the Strip then I'd advise hitting "Foreign Money Exchange" on Convention Center drive across from the indoor skydiving place...not far from the Pepp.   They can exchange well over $1k/day.  FME had rates similar to Stephens props.

If you're staying at the 4Q, there's a huge difference between the noise levels in the various locations; the North Tower is louder than the South Tower and your room in either tower will either be facing toward or away from the FSE. South Tower away-facing rooms, you barely hear it.

No place on the Strip will have even remotely comparable prices, and...you'll be stuck on the Strip, with its awful gambling and hyper-expensive food.

The choice is Hotel Apache if OP wants a quiet room.   Request an inside facing room on 3rd floor down one of their dead end hallways.   The view is crap but no concerns of FSE noise or any hoodrats causing a commotion running down the hotel corridors at 3am which isn't too uncommon at QQQQ these days.

Miles to memories you tube video shows LV stats that .25 slots are suprisingly close to the strip.  I assume the stats didn't factor in vp which is better downtown.

I recomend the Mob Museum since you are staying downtown.  Excellent & improved over the last few years.  The Natural History Museum - a short cab ride is also pretty good.

M2M are a couple of clowns who know jack squat about advantage play.  I would not advise following any gaming advice they put forth.

I just don't like the Apache, because the rooms are so small that they feel claustrophobic, and there's nothing (nothing) in Binion's that I want. The 4Q is across the street, though.

It is the cheapest option, though, and there's a senior discount, just like at the 4Q. The Binion's coffee shop is OK, though not as good as Magnolia's. Funbook twofer coupon. (I should mention that the 4Q/Binion's funbook is pretty damn good--the last of its kind, and they'll even let you use the restaurant twofers for 50% off if you're dining alone.)

Thanks Kevin for the info.  I am staying at the 4Q and happy to get 50% off dining at Magnolia's. I always liked their food and the view over the casino.

Will bring Canadian cash with me for gambling and use credit for everything else. Just hope that I can start getting offers again for the future.  Anything helps.

Too bad about Boyd's properties.  I always had free rooms at all their properties, and loved the buffets.  Is it worthwhile visiting them at all anymore?  All my points are gone.
