After conversation, they told me that they monitor for these low charges because people use them as test charges to see if the card works.

We had been in Vegas about 12 years ago. About 2 weeks after we got home there was a call from the police in Vegas that they had a guy in custody that had our credit card number. They wanted my husband to fly out, they were paying for it, to testify that he had not given this guy the number. Later on there was a phone call that the feds took him.
