Cromwell coming down from its high horse?

This is Vegas, the strip should be filled with $5 tables. They are gouging people. I stay off the strip, it is a bit better. Vegas used to be a place to go to where your gambling budget lasted and some comps were forthcoming. Things will eventually have to change.
Got invited to a slot tournament (or something similar) there BUT the free nights that went
with the offer were at Flamingo, Ballys, Harrahs and Rio and NOT at Cromwell! Also, will not
go back to Giadas. . .hubby was really looking forward to eating there as he loves her cooking
show, but our breakfast was almost $100 and nothing to write home about. . . . Thot The Pantry
at Mirage was better!

So Biglar...did you take the suit up on his drink offer?
No, I did not contact him. I'm Diamond and free drinks at CET properties are not a problem. I didn't want to waste my time and his, tracking this guy down for a lousy drink. My purpose for relating my experience on the survey was to give the Suits a "heads up" about their customer service; not trolling for freebies. I'm staying at the Flamingo next trip (in 10 days) and I will probably have a few cocktails at the Cromwell's Bound Bar...great bartenders and nice ambiance. It's a nice property, but I know that I am not part of their targeted customer demographic.

And I STILL have not made it over to the Stage Door.....

When the Cromwell first opened we stopped in to play VP at the bar. $30 and 10 minutes later we had to flag a snobbish rude bartender over to order a drink. He acted like we were putting him out and took his sweet time and then asked pretentiously if we knew how the comp system works for drinks. (We have been to Vegas 2-3 times a year for 25 years and play mostly VP so yes we know and tried to joke with him about it. When we feel like being sociable we sit at the VP bars even though usually the pay tables are not as great as on the floor. And we always tip very well, Many of the bartenders on the strip and downtown have become good friends over the years.) He never came back and asked us if we needed anything but kept walking by us like we were doing something wrong. (Yeah tipping him was wrong!) A few people sat down and played by us but after the rude experience they also received from the bartender they all took their drinks, printed out their tickets and left without even tipping. We also left and went to find a bank of VP machines. I few suits were making their rounds and asking people how their service was at the new Cromwell so we told them about our humiliating experience at the bar. All they did is offer us a drink which we did not need because the service on the floor was good. We will never go back.
The last two times I was there we played slots and got absolutely hammered. It was mid day and it wrecked the rest of my itinerary for that day. Played a long time too. Hope it hasn't changed when I go back in June.
very disappointed in Giadas, would of been much happier at Batistias
Darkstar
My favorite memory of the Barbary Coast was way back when before Players Cards. It was the middle of the night, and my wife and I were playing slots there for quite a while. Suddenly a gentleman in a suit walks up to us out of the blue and says "You folks have been playing here for a while". He then writes out a slip of paper and says "go have a meal on us". Oh how I miss the good old days. This also happened to us frequently at the Boardwalk Casino (where City Center is now).
