Current Resort Fees: A Guide

Resort fees both suck and are here to stay. Since we're savvy Vegas travelers, we don't have any difficulty planning for them. We just add them to the low room rates we find, or ignore them altogether if we're comped.

Lots of hotels would like to get rid of resort fees, but can't for competitive reasons (they don't generally appear in hotel search engines until late in the selection process).

Someday maybe the Nevada Legislature will realize that resort fees scare away unsavvy Vegas travelers, but that day is not today. So until then, here's VegasChatter's updated list of current resort fees.
Color me different, but I like resort fees. Truth be told I love resort fees. They make me feel good about myself in a perverse self-important kind of way. They make me feel valued.

Aw, you're just trying to get drmilled turned on....

Kind of makes it worth it being a Diamond, Emerald & President...never paid a resort fee and stay where I want to.

Unfortunately, El Cortez also has a resort fee of $8.95. Fortunately they don't charge the fee on comped rooms.
If nothing else there should be a cap put on them - or a law to make them more transparent. Its more than a little unnerving when your room ends up costing twice as much as you thought because of the unadvertised resort fee.

Not to me.

Getting a resort fee waiver that way costs CRAZY money.

I really think there are too many good MBAs and computer whizzes working Vegas hotels these days to make high-level comp hustling worthwhile.

I'm more than happy to pay for my cheap Vegas rooms.
I'm noticing in that VegasChatter list an "*" next to $15 in the information about Plaza but it does not say what the "*" is there for.

hate 'em hate 'em hate 'em! resort fees suck, just show the true price. and with the d and golden gate, the rate is sometime listed for less than the fee. for example: $17 per night + $20 fee. insanity! with the internet and info overload, most people are informed shoppers and are insulted by the gimmicks and tom foolery. what ceo thinks it is a smart practice to insult your customer's intelligence?
" what ceo thinks it is a smart practice to insult your customer's intelligence?" ------ DRSTEWART- apparently the ceo's have discovered that the "intelligence" of their customers must be way below average since those same "customers" will pay the ripoff "resort" fees and keep coming back for more. They used to say that Vegas was not built on winners, today it is apparent that Vegas is not only built on but thrives on losers.
