DID THE PLAZA CASINO AND HOTEL CLOSE?

Was wondering if the Plaza casino downtown closed down tried to call them 2 days in a row, first day never answered the phone second day stayed on between 15 and 20 minutes while they said they were serving other customers.????????????????????? No great loss guess.

Still open as far as I know. We have stayed there and tried to call the front desk a couple of times-if they are busy, they just don't answer the phone.

that sounds pathetic! they are not busy. well maybe if they only have one desk clerk / operator, but not because the hotel is full. with that business model, maybe they will be closed soon. i was there last summer, can't think of a reason to visit again.

I hope not I just booked 4 days there on line yesterday!................come on April 7TH!!!!!

God I would hate to see this place go belly up.Sick of seeing the old timers closing.If only somebody with the old Benny Binion/Jackie Gaughan business sense could buy this place.

Get this, I booked 4 nights at the Plaza last week and out of the blue a host from the plaza calls me last night (8:30PM EST) and asks if I plan to go to Las Vegas in the near future......ummm yes I say. Well then Mr.G let me call you next Tuesday night and we will see what I can do for you.
This may not seem exciting to you but even though I go to Las Vegas at least two times a year and frequent the same establishments, Boyd gaming seems to be the only one that is sending me any offers and theirs aren't mind blowing.
So, as it stands......I have a free round trip ticket to Vegas courtesy of Southwest airlines (points) and now I may have free night or two hotel rooms......The stars are lining up

Stayed at the Plaza last fall and returning this spring. Had a great time.
They are very much alive.

PISSED at the Plaza now! They had a promotion going (promo code 30off3) which I booked and never received a confirmation. I was afraid to book twice so I waited a day and then the promotion ran out, but I was still sure I was booked (silly me)
The host calls a few days later and basically offers me nothing. Its the same thing I can get on line, but she does say to see her after the trip to see if she can do anything for me based upon my play. I ask if she would honor the recent promotion...........nope! not, oh I'm sorry Mr.G I cant do it mfor a stupid reason.......just plain NOPE! Grrrrrr!
So, with no other offers, the Plaza is still my best option at this point, except the el Cortez and I am just not sure I want to stay there
