DID THE PLAZA CASINO AND HOTEL CLOSE?

After being screwed like that, I would think anyplace would be better than the Plaza.
Weggie 44, try Sam's Town or the Gold Coast, they have always treated me well, and have given good comps.
We have stayed at Plaza the last two years (after the remodel) on comped rooms from our casino host, we are not high rollers but play a fair amount through. Our host left, not sure where or what happened other than we got something from a real estate e-mail from him if we are ever looking to buy in the Vegas area... anyway we contacted another host only to be offered rack rate plus the resort fee (which had always been waived in the past). I laughed and said I would pass - what do I have to lose??? We did get an offer for April for 2-3 nights comped but only mid week and out trip isn't until May so I am assuming our offer will be the same - no weekends. The way I look at it: it is there loss. I have other casinos offer this one time a year visitor free rooms and I will stay and play there. I gamble in the casino that gives me rooms. If I go downtown this trip I will avoid playing there at all cost.. They are not going to go bankrupt w/o my $$$ but I am not going to try to win my comps back either.
I visisted the Plaza a week and a half ago and it was surprisingly busy. When I went to the Vegas Club to redeem my free play, their players club was closed and had to go to the Plaza to redeem. It looks like the V.C. might be the next casino on the chopping block. On a side note,an employee at Binions told me their rooms will eventually reopen, but will take awhile because they are infested with termites and have to be completely rebuilt.
