Does anyone collect LV memorabila?

Recently, I happened to find an unopened small bar of soap from the Sahara Hotel. I'd stayed there back in early 2004. I'd have gone ahead and used it but didn't know if there might be some sort of value since the hotel has long since closed.
How can someone tell if a particular item might have worth?

Tim
I collected, bought, sold and traded memorabilia for a long time a number of years ago. At one time I had 1000's of soaps, shampoos, conditioners and other toiletries dating back over 15 years that I offered for trade or sale on a collectors website that was dedicated to this sort of stuff. Everyone on there said it was about the only thing that they DIDN'T collect.

Some things that do have collector value are chips, tokens, ash trays, match books, room keys, slot cards, dice and old brochures among many others.
I collect chips (get a $5 chip from every casino that I visit), playing cards, and players club cards. Haven't taken the time to determine value but it is fun to see how many are from casinos that have come and gone already. I know that there are some trading shows. Has anyone ever been to one? Could be fun.
Silver Strikes have 83 of them----they are almost gone form everywhere now. Started collecting penny vouchers fro all the casinos the past three years.

I have collected vintage Las Vegas Memorabilia for about 12 years. My favorites (though I have never been a smoker) are vintage ashtrays. I also have collections of matchbooks, room keys, paper coin cups, and swizzle sticks. It has been challenging to come up with something from every old casino; still searching for a few items from the more obscure casinos. That's what makes the collection fun, it will always be something I can add to. Will try to add some photos.......a bit rusty on adding pics !
Wow vintagevegasfan that's a nice stash of swag.

That is great vintagevegasfan. I love it! Thanks for sharing the picture.
You can look on ebay. People sell stuff like that. The old hotels that have been long since town down seem to attract the most money...but even then its not much. Things like toiletries, glasswear, coasters, etc dont go for much....SIlver Strikes and Table Chips can go for quite a bit more.

I saw someone selling a SIlver Strike from the Sands for over $100
So - how much for a full set of Slapper cards? Just wunderin'
Wow, vintagevegasfan! That's a nice LV Memorablia collection you have!

As for me, I don't have much but some Slot Club cards, a few pens here and there and maybe a coin cup or two.
