Double booking

I cannot ever get the search feature Of this forum to work for me. I apologize as I am sure this has been answered several times but I have never had an occasion for me to do this until now. My wife and I get similar mailer offers to LVH and Palms. We are going to Vegas Oct 26 for five days with another couple that are rare visitors to Vegas and receive no special offers. Can the wife and I each book a room and give one room to the other couple or will the reservation system not allow this? We do not use a host at either facility, if this matters .
No problem with different hotels, you book one, she books the other. Completely separate reservation systems. I've only run into a problem when it is the same chain (Stations, Boyd, etc).
Of course, the one making the resevation will have to check into the room (and give them the key).
I am sorry, didn't make myself clear. I want to book 2 rooms at each casino . Staying 2nights at LVH and the next 3 at Palms. So I am looking at booking the same reservation at each hotel. One on her offer and one on mine. Since I posted, I have made both and they took my reservations. The reservationist at the Palms commented to my wife that she could see she was associated with my account but took the reservation. I do not know if she saw that I already had booked one for the same time however. The LVH said nothing.
