Yes, when I used to go to LV in December, the weather would be different. Usually it was cold (although I know that this is a relative term since I'm from Southern California). But I do remember one of my trips where the Highs were in the 30's and the Lows were in the 20's. And one day during the trip, I went to meet a friend at Stratosphere (I was staying Downtown) and as I was driving, I heard on the radio that with the Wind Chill Factor it felt like it was 13 Degrees. That was something completely new to me. I remember wearing 3 layers of clothing on the top plus Thermal Underwear and Mittens and I was still Freezing!
And then one year (this happened before the above-mentioned event), the temperatures were in the low 70's. That pleased me very much. But yes, you never know what you may find in weather in LV.
What I do for this is go to www.weather.com, type 89101 for the Zip Code (this is the Zip Code for Downtown Las Vegas) and then go to the 10-Day Forecast link. I actually have this site bookmarked for all my trips to LV (as well as for when I'm just curious about the weather in LV).
And I'm normally pretty often in the Double Digit group because I tend to go to LV about 3 or 4 times a year, so I don't tend to be any more than 120 days away from another trip (much more often it is 100 days or less). As things stand right now, I'm 72 days away from leaving for my next scheduled trip.
