i read a bunch of my older trip reports this weekend and i want to be there now.

i still havent decided on thanksgiving yet. i wont decide until i get back from my october trip, but i do have thanksgiving booked as comped just in case.

my sister wants to go for thanksgiving. that caused this:

me: where are you staying?
her: with you
me: uhhhhhh
her: i love the imperial palace
me: remember how you always fight me over me smoking in MY room that YOU sponged on?
her: you can smoke on the balcony
me: uh, no. you can get your own room
her: its worth it to deal with the smoke to not have to pay for a room

two days later

me: you know, for only $40 more than a flight, you can book a package and have your own room
her: really? where?
me: imperial palace. ill give you my room and you can give me your room downtown
her: oh thats great because i might be bringing someone!

i didnt ask her if she intended to bring someone before she found out she can have her own room. was she seriously going to bring a friend and have THREE people in my room that i wont even allow TWO in?

im not even going to ask. its pointless to argue because i never had intentions of letting her stay with me to begin with.

jenaphir, I would be really pissed if someone tried to horn in on my room. Granted, I usually offer to share but I would hate for someone to EXPECT it without asking; even if it were my sister! Now, if the person she were bringing was Gilles (from DWTS,) and she agreed to share, and I got firsts, well...
