Trip is not booked, but not completely off. I have made some money from mississippi freeplay runs in the past few weeks, and am going to try to parlay that into a reasonable bankroll. If I can't do it in the next few weeks, trip is off.


btw......I found maltese Fortune or treasure or whatever it's called in mississippi. But I only found one of them and some bitch had 316546513265465131 credits in the machine and was there for hours and she was immune to my evil eye.

i have been checking the harrahs website every day for rates and it just kept refusing to give me any comped nights.

well today i checked and it gave me FIVE comped nights at the imperial palace.

so i booked it.

two of those nights i am double booked with sahara. i have to decide if im keeping that or cancelling it.

sahara + = closer to downtown, which is where i am going to play
sahara - = $6 resort fee

looks like imperial palace it is!

i am almost completely booked. im surprised i was able to fill so many comped days, especially with the loss of my fitzgeralds offers.

i am positive i will have to pay for the last two nights (new years eve) and i have the riviera bookmarked in my mind because (a) its my cheapest option and (b) its not all that crowded on the strip that far up.

but yet i havent booked it yet.

17 days to go, and believe it or not, I changed my plans again.

I checked Expedia for the 26th time and I found some interesting offers for the two days I have left - $15/night for Fiesta Rancho, $16/night for Texas Station, $20/night for Golden Gate, $24/night for Tuscany... but I didn't book any of those.

I had an Expedia coupon for $50 off a minimum 2 night stay, but the minimum hotel price had to be at least $50 per night. So I looked farther down the list. Hmmm, what's this? The Rio at $44/night? Well, what do they have that's a little more - how about a 2 queen "suite" at $59 per? AND that rate offers a free Buffet of Buffets. I'm not a huge grazer, but I figure to be mighty hungry as I land at McCarran, and with breakfast & dinner the next day, I can definitely make this work. The gambling at the Rio is quite awful, I know, but the Gold Coast is next door and has good gambling. The Palms is close by and also has good gambling. And down Flamingo is some more joints that are worth blowing my money on.

So I booked it. It came to $81 total - about the same as my room at Bill's would have been. I'm kinda sorry I won't be staying there; maybe I'll get to it some time before HET tears it down.

I really think I'm done now, but I won't guarantee it until I'm in the air. Now it's time to finish up what I want to do when I'm in town.

Good luck with the planning! I actually am much LESS crazed with my planning this trip. It has been very matter-of-fact. Got all of my comped rooms after booking -- thank God I did it early -- my SW FF ticket. Ultra low-roller trip so just free fun planned and maybe a day at Qua along with a number of days at Canyon Ranch. During my last trip I bought a 5-day pass to the Canyon Ranch Spa at the Venetian, and never went ONCE, but the pass is apparently good indefinitely -- and the days don't have to be used consecutively -- so I'll use the pass this coming trip.

KarenTN - where was that maltese fortune machine in Tunica? We are headed there for Thanksgiving and I NEED that machine to pay me. It's brother in Harrah's Las Vegas has much of my money and they need to pay me back.

Fflowers - Please tell me more about the 5 day Canyon pass. What all is included in the pass? Does it have to be the same person everyday?

i like the rio buffet a lot. when i do stay there, i play at gold coast a lot. i like it there.
