Double Digits!!!!!

The evil Maltese Falcon machines at Ak-Chin, that never pay, are located in multi game machines.

yeah....it does kinda suck. I am expecting to get an offer this week. I have had 3 interviews there. keep your fingers crossed

KarenTN - Thanks for the info on the bad bad bad machine and Good Luck on the offer.
Hope it is for a better job than the one you had!
Carol
so when are you heading in to Tunica and where are you staying?

15 days to go.

jenaphir: Thanks! I don't really mean to keep switching hotels, but each one offers a better and better deal. This one should work out well for me.

FFlowers: Yep, I'm going to miss you by 10 days or so. Too bad.

The plan seems to be falling into place:

Tuesday - Arrive, check in, get buffet card, pig out, waddle back to the room, ignore super tight machines on the way.
Wednesday - Buffet breakfast, bus trip to Tuscany, pick up appearance fee, walk to Terrible's, play that $100 loss coupon, bus back to Rio, catch a movie and/or gamble, buffet dinner
Thursday - Breakfast @ GC, Terrible's, or Tuscany, gamble extra @ GC if there's a multiplier day (Veterans' Day), check out @ Rio, check in @ 4 Queens, look for downtown dinner specials or settle in @ Magnolia's, avoid the Experience, gamble
Friday - Open, but I can't stay out too late
Saturday - Check out & leave

Fflowers - Please tell me more about the 5 day Canyon pass. What all is included in the pass? Does it have to be the same person everyday?

carol

Hey Carol,

With my long August/early September trip, I had planned to work out at Canyon Ranch often and enjoy the spa. That didn't happen though I got lots of exercise walking around!

Anyway, the normal daily pass to Canyon Ranch is $40, but if you purchase a 3-day pass, it's a little cheaper each day, i.e., $110 for three days, and it's $150 for 5 days, or $30 a day. You save $50 if you visit 5 days by getting the pass. Before I purchased the pass I was told it didn't have to be used on consecutive days and indeed didn't even have to be used on the same trip. The "pass" I received was basically a receipt for the $150 I paid but it's in the Canyon Ranch computer that I'm basically "owed" five days. Each time I visit they'll reduce it by one day until I visit for five days.

yep, this used to happen to me all the time too.

i kind of miss the excitement of surprise offers/rates etc. im now in a rut.

KarenTN -
We (Paul, Mom, and I) arrive in Tunica Wed after work on Nov 24th for the Thanksgiving weekend.
Paul's son (Paul Jr.) will be there part of the time. Paul and Paul Jr. will be going to the Ole Miss game in Oxford on the 27th and we are going to spend Friday shopping in Memphis.
Can you recommend a Macy's location/Mall that would be good?
Also looking for a good Sushi or Tapas restaurant to try.

We have a room in my name at Horshoe Tunica and we have a room in Paul's name at the Veranda.

Are you going to be around Tunica that weekend?
I could end up in Tunica at some point that weekend. Let me see what kind of free play i get.

I wish wish wish we still had a tapas place here in memphis. 2 Sushi restaurans I like. one is called Sekisui Pacific Rim, on Poplar Ave in East Memphis, the other is a tiny itty bitty place called Do (pronounced like dough) on South Cooper in Midtown. I would rather recommend Sekisui Pacific Rim to out of towners, because the neighborhood Do is in is a bit sketchy. You can find the menu online, too, I think.

West of Sekisui and on the other side of Poplar is the smallish Oak Court Mall. There is a Macy's in there. The only other decent mall in town is the enormous Wolfchase Galleria way way out east. You are coming in from Arkansas, aren't you? Google should be able to help you find maps and directions to both malls and Sekisui Pacific Rim. And you aren't looking for barbecue recommendations???
