I was just informed of my bonus amount. It is a bit less than what I thought it would be. So I will not be partying like a rock star in Vegas

12 days !! 12 days !! 12 days !! Not that I'm counting, or anxious, or excited about it or anything...

KarenTN: the same thing happened to me (but for different reasons). I'm down 600 from what I expected to have for this trip (yikes!). I swear, the best way to predict a financial crisis for me is to book a trip to Vegas (it always seems to happen right before I go). I'm still going and I always find a way to make my money stretch.

Well, I would have been saving money for the trip instead of relying on the bonus. But I've been hearing since July about how our bonuses are going to be soooooo big. I'll be OK, but after taxes, the whole thing will be going to Vegas with me.

Karen, how long are you going to be out in your dec. trip. I have rooms booked in dec. but havn't booked air yet. I am either doing out b4 x-mas then coming home next day, or staying thru new years.

I fly in late late late Thursday night, dec 6. And fly out late late late Sunday night dec 9

funny you should mention flights: I got the bright idea to fly, after all, but the fares were close to 300 bucks. I found that Expedia has a feature that allows you to book a package deal (flight and hotel room), and only use the hotel room for part of your stay (in this case one night). It was a lot cheaper than the 300 bucks for a flight alone. I had Mandalay Bay for a night and r/t airfare (adding a 7th night to my trip) for 208, (not bad, and cheaper than most of the plane tickets I found) but . . . I screwed-up royally (I was too tired when I booked it): I got the return flight date wrong by a day!!! Even though I caught it 3 minutes after booking, Expedia said I only had the choice of canceling the entire booking for a FULL REFUND, or paying 100 to change the date of the flight. What a pain. So . . . screw it, I'm driving after all . . . Vegas or Bust!
