Downtown Movies

I've got some friends heading to Las Vegas next month and asked me if I knew of any movie theaters in the downtown area. I thought there used to be something downtown (Neonopolis?), but aren't sure. I think they're looking to keep kids busy. If not downtown, anything close? Thanx
i was there last summer and it was there, saw a movie but the place was empty, nice theater.
I'm pretty sure (although not absolutely positively sure) that the movie theaters are gone from Neonopolis. If Jillian's is still there (in Neonopolis), that might be something.

I do also seem to remember reading somewhere about an Arcade for kids somewhere in California Casino (it might be on the second floor near the bridge that goes across to Main Street Station).

I otherwise don't think that there is much for kids in Downtown!

I think that there are movies by MGM Grand.

Something else that might keep kids occupied would be the Adventuredome as well as the Carnival Midway games at Circus-Circus and maybe some stuff at Excalibur as well.

Both the Galaxy Theaters and Jillians at downtown's Neonopolis are long closed.

Nearest conventional movie theaters to downtown are probably at Texas Station, perhaps a 5 mile drive northwest.

Just an idea, if these folks are downtown and want to hop on the free SamsTown Bus, they could see a movie there and hop on the bus back to downtown.
Yes, the arcade at the California is on the 2nd floor, just before the bridge.

How old are the kids? If they're under 13, I highly recommend Texas Station's Kids Quest. It's a great place for kids to have fun, while the parents get some casino time. And yes, they have movies there, too.

I 2nd that opinion about Kids Quest. My 9 year old didn't want to leave when we were at the Mohegan Sun last year. Their Kid quests had an excellent staff...full menu (which you can select from when you drop ur kid off or leave permission for them to have what they want). They even had a nurse on duty. And they give you a pager if they need to reach you. The 1 at Mohegan Sun was open till 1 a.m. (or somethin like that). My lil guy didn't want to leave...and I could pay my bill with the points I earned!! (did someone say 3 times points at Texas???)
And I'm now seeing that there is a coupon for buy one hour and get one Free at any Kids Quest in the American Casino Guide, so check that out as well! The coupon is in the National section!

I think there's a coupon for Kids Quest in the MRB, too.
Thanx for all the help and great ideas. I'll pass them along.
