Downtown VS the Strip

I was a little skeptical when the essay started out with:

We may earn money from the companies and products mentioned in this post.

But it was a good read and accurate.

"Downtown is on the rise".
My fear is that downtown will eventually get to big for it's britches and start adding/raising fees like the strip.

Good info, Thanks Blonde4ever,  bbking also my fear with Circa & new wings at Fremont & Grand dowtown could become too big & I am sorry kids but too young , loud, & brash. God help me I love Downtown Las Vegas. VIVA LAS VEGAS

In regards to downtown being "seedier" than the strip....not so sure I agree with that.    There's no shortage of homeless people on the strip.   And downtown doesn't have the porn slappers - just chicks with pasties on their nipples.

There's a whole bunch of hotel rooms coming online in the next 24 months (both downtown and on the strip)- along with the continued rise of Air-bnb.     Something is going to give eventually.    Probably not good for places like the SLS and Downtown Grand....but good for consumers looking for a cheap room.

Also my fear.

I have been "talking up" downtown for years.

Maybe I should have kept my mouth shut...lol

It will become so popular I will not be able to afford it.

Some of the quaintness of downtown already seems to be gone. And some of the poor excuse for "entertainment" up and down the Fremont strip is really making me sick.

Agreed. Some of the performers should just give up.Not so much vulgar, just stupid and a waste of my short term memory. Some things you just cannot un-see.I don't go there to see those people, anyway.I'm just passing through on my coupon runs.
