Every Year I Plan to "____" But Never Do...

I keep thinking just once, one time I'll stay downtown. But never do, usually because the rates on the Strip are either low enough or I get offered a couple nights free from a slot club.

I have always wanted to take a helicopter ride up and down the strip at night. Its only like a ten minute ride and costs something like $99 for each person.

If I ever win some decent change, I want to do the helicopter ride to the Grand Canyon $400+

Reading this thread, makes me feel like I've done alot! lol

But there's a few things I never seem to get around to doing........

I haven't been to the FSE in Ages! Keep thinking I'd like to go see.......but its DT, and you
know how often I get there. lol

Drove by Pawn Stars several times, but never at a time when the line was short.

Been to most of the hotels, and finally stepped foot in GC last trip, thanks to 'Cat, and a Meet there. lol

My FAM has gone to the Atomic Testing museum, and enjoyed it for a few hours.....but I didn't go.....

None of us has hit the Pinball Museum, and I keep thinking that would be a fun detour, one of these days!

Last trip I DID do one, actually two things that have been on my list .....

I visited the Gold Spike and El Cortez ........ and I walked from Fremont street, without any incidents or trouble.

My God People !!!!! .......... Just what is all the talk about the El Cortez being in a dangerous area ????

I even washed, pressed and packed my old Karate Gi just in case. LOL

Weggie,we've done both and both are AWESOME! Heli ride on the strip was great,we were the last ones of the night and the only ones in the copter. We both sat up front with the pilot. The view/perspective is just incredible.

For the GC,we flew in on a small plane(much cheaper,$275ish?) and rode 4 wheelers through the bottom of the canyon. It was beyond cool! Can't find the pics for it right now, sorry about that.

Great question, for me:

Dine at more new restaurants (need to break the routine)
Check out Chinatown (always just drive by)
Try the new jump from the Stratophere (in my dreams)
Rent an exotic car again (20+ yrs ago rented a Ferrari and took it to the desert )
As others have mentioned the "pinball museum"! Like many on this site, I grew up playing pinball and miss the old machines. We would always grab a couple of ashtrays off the tables and sit them under the front feet of the machine! Eventually the makers caught on and the machine would "tilt" pretty easily! Oh well, fond memories.

We always have a car but we never seem to have enough time to do the things we want! 24 hours in a day is just not enough when in Vegas! As a younger man I would stay up for 36 plus hours and catch a few hours of sleep in time. Nowdays it is more like to bed around 10-11 pm and up at 5 am! Damn time change is a bite!
I can typically stay up to 4 am one night each visit but that is pretty much it!
For me, I want to see a Vegas show sometime, but just never have.
