Firm beds at downtown hotels.

I am very vulnerable to lower back pain. It is very important that I sleep on a firm mattress. I usually stay at Paris where the beds are pretty firm. On my last trip I stayed at Harrah's and had a very soft mattress. After the second night my back was killing me.

I am considering staying downtown on my next trip. I know many of the members here stay downtown. Can you please tell me where you stayed and the firmness of the mattress. The last time I stayed downtown was several years ago. I stayed at the Fitz and the mattress was horrible. The Nugget is a little more than I want to spend. Vegas Club is out of the question. The main places I am interested in are MSS, Cal, Fremont, 4 Queens and El Cortez.

Any info you downtowners could give me will be greatly appreciated. My back thanks you.
I sleep on a futon at home, so a soft mattress would probably kill me. Based on personal experience I can recommend ElCo Cabana Suites. Firm mattress. (Biohazard green walls ... but a firm mattress.)

My memories of 4 Queens and the Fremont are less specific.

I stayerd at the 4 queens in may and had to request a second room because the bed was so uncomfortable in the first one! I swear the head of the bed was 6 inches lower than the foot end of the bed! and I am pretty sure it was that memory foam crap! When we got to the second room I knew I was screwed as this one was straight across but also waaaay too soft. If you stay here, go to lowes and buy a piece of plywood! DO NOT STAY HERE WITH A BAD BACK!.....I am not sure what tower we stayed in, but I requested to be "away" from the Fremont street noise

The Golden gate beds that we had in December were the smallest beds I have ever slept on. My wifes feet hung off the bed and she is 5ft 1 in tall! She laughs about it to this day. They were old matresses.

I stayed at the Golden Nugget last year in both the Carson and Rush towers and slept like a log! Nice and firm bed.

It might also be interesting to see what the Plaza will have available in september when they re open, as I heard they have bought all new furniture for there rooms and am assuming that includes mattresses.

I have no information on the Fremont, Binions, or the Las Vegas club, Main Street Station, or the California

Good luck weggie
The Nugget has pretty decent beds even the south tower has been changed out. Golden Gate was fine, I'm 5'4 and I had no problem being to short. Cheap, clean, new decor, new beds- room is small ( stayed 18 months ago) Fitz- NO...I stay there for free during tournies and complain still. Beds are brutal there soft but hard at the same time. El Cortez-is no better unless you do a Cabana suite...but the paint will kill you! What were they thinking? Gold Spike beds are like your sleeping on a piece of wood plus the bonus of the lime green paint and cheap vertical blind ...don't plan on sleeping if you stay there.

Word has it the new Gold SPike Rooms have very firm beds. I cant speak from personal experience.
MSS beds are firm and comfortable. Just got back yesterday.

I can. It does.
For some reason this thread reminds me of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

Best porridge downtown: MSS Garden Court Buffet. Not too hot ... not too cold.
