Getting a shave downtown or on the strip

Does anybody have a reccomendation for a decent shave?
A mans face, I am not interested in getting anything else shaved. Thanks

Great question!

I have wanted an old fashion shave, where you sit in a barbers chair, and they put the hot towel on your face and use a straight razor to shave you for years.

I read in these forums that the El Cortez has such a barber but I cannot confirm this.

A second question might be, how much would a shave cost?

El Cortez does have one - you have to walk up the grand staircase accross from the checkin desk. I've never tried it.
The Barber Shop at the ElCortez isn't accross from the front desk upstairs, it's to the left of the front desk as you face it, just past the sports book on the right is some steps that wind its way up to the second floor down the hallway to the left, its the last room on the left, got my hair cut there, don't know cost of shave. Second place if your on the strip Somerset Barber shop at 252 Convention Center Dr. its that little strip mall behind the Walgreens about a block, kind of behind the Peppermill. I have used that when staying at the Riviera, walk out Riv. left 1 block, then left 1 more, think it's called Somerset Mall. Old style Barber shop. Haircut only, not a shave, but they do them there and are very reasonable.

I just found their business card in my Vegas file. Phone # is 732-7888 for the Somerset Barber shop. Call them when your there and ask for the cost of a shave, I have only got haircuts there.
John is my barber at the Southpoint barber shop. He does the "Art of Shaving" which is exactly what you want. It starts with the hot towel and the scents. John was originally at Red Rock where I met him, and now he is at Southpoint. I now get the same haircut for half the price. But he is known for his shaves. The Southpoint barber shop number is 702-797-8020.

Hubby and our BFF/travel friend both have been to have a shave and hair cut at the El Cortez. It is the old fashion wrap your face with a hot towel and straight razor shave. It is their version of going to the spa. LOL. I believe it is up the staircase near the sports book which is also the staircase to get to the vintage rooms.

So how much is the shave?
A Shave which includes hot towel, aroma therapy and mask is $45. For $65 you also get the Scrub and Wash.

Another vote for John Taddio at the Southpoint.
Give him a call for a reservation at 702-374-6240.

There's nothing like relaxing under a hot towel with some classic Sinatra playing listening to John's stories.
