Like LV itself, this evolves with time. Time was that LV was the hottest destination in the country it seemed. All of a sudden, everyone I knew was traveling to the town I already knew and loved. I enjoyed passing along insider info to the newbies and in time they were doing the same. LV was invincible or so we thought. As quickly as it started the change started coming about. Other destinations offered new horizons. Paying for comps three times over with gaming losses was no longer a "privilege." For others, the construction halt meant no new resorts to see and report on. For many it just lost it's luster. Flying into town and sitting in front of a slot or VP machine just wasn't a priority any more.

Many will continue to go as I do for numerous reasons, bit the hey day is over. These days I check the TR forum and you're lucky to see 4-5 new reports a week. In the day you might see that on a given day. I'm sure this means some members aren't going as much and as such have less trips to report. Also, LVA may not be adding new members like in the hey day. I initially subscribed for info. For a long while you've been able to find more info in five minutes on the net than in today's newsletter. Not LVA's fault, it's just a fact in today's connected world.

All this being said, I sure miss the old days with the reports from those mentioned and more.

Good Luck!

I don't know that the hey day is over for Las Vegas.
I posted last year asking " Where did everybody go?"
Sadly, I think maybe the hey day for the LVA message board is over.
This was my "go to"board for Vegas info.
The new content started to slow down and seemed to almost stop in some forums.I would check daily and there would be nothing new for several days at a time.
At the same time, other message boards are very, very active with some current and past posters here regularly contributing.I don't know the reason or have an answer but I do miss the days when all the previously mentioned posters were regularly contributing.
I rejoined after a few years away and was stunned by the lack of activity and information in the forums. The site really has been lessened by this i believe.

Continued poor performance by this web site has forced many to leave. Try lvadvice.com where a lot of the old posters went.
Yeah they went there, but all they do is talk about this site and the info they get is from here-they can't get over it.

LOL
I like that site but its not a whole lot more active than here.

The bottom line is simple. If you are looking for information about the Cosmopolitan in Vegas (for example) you can come here and read a review of someone that stayed there 4 months ago....or you can go to Yelp/Tripadvisor/Hotels.com and read 50 reviews from people who have stayed there within the last few weeks.

I like the message boards and trading info with people I've grown to know over the years....but this format is really going the way of the Doh-Doh bird.
Ah, that's sad. I just re-joined after a few years away, and was hoping not too many of the old posters had left.
I stayed away from Vegas for a couple years. When I started going back I renewed my membership here and was surprised that the forums are still molasses slow to load and there's not a lot of info anymore. Very sad. This was the place to be for great Vegas info before.
Hi, Mare. Glad to hear from you again. I miss our meets from long gone by with Sue, Jean Marie, etc.
