I've been to the Grand Canyon, north and south rims, many, many times, and when I drove out to the Skywalk one fine spring morning, I was...underwhelmed. it juts out above a portion of the Canyon that isn't particularly scenic...or deep! And the total viewing area isn't that large, so it feels kind of crowded when it's busy. Bus tours routinely arrive there and disgorge 40 or 50 people, and they limit the number that can be on the Skywalk at at any one time---so if you're already on it, you feel kind of rushed.
For this, I would pay $10 or $15. But it costs several times that. Again, if there was a place where I could hang out, take pics, admire the view, eat my lunch, etc., it might be worth it, but they've constructed the surrounding building so that you really can't see much unless you've paid.
Of course, there's a reason why the view is so meh. The Hualapai and Supai Indians owned the western Canyon long before the white guys got there. Their reservations now encompass the parts that the US government didn't want--the rest is now part of GC National Monument and GC National Park.
So I find that place rather sad, and I'm not going to pay for a viewpoint that's much inferior to any of those in the Park.
