Hate Fees? Why Vegas Doesn’t Care

Went to outlet mall during stay and now are charging to park. What is this coming to
Why go to Vegas? 6:5 Blackjack, resort fees, parking fees, panhandlers, bizarro world street performers downtown. I haven't been to Vegas in years and I don't miss it. I get all my gambling fix here in Oklahoma, without any of the crap listed above. The hotels are as nice or nicer than any in Vegas.
There is no place that is a more hyperbolic expression of the economy than Vegas. Right now we are at full employment and people have lots of discressionary cash to throw away. At some point we'll have another cyclical recession and I suspect much of these BS fees will collapse.
When the hotels have to start fighting each other to fill rooms they'll reduce prices and eliminate fees to get more traffic.
Until then I mostly hangout downtown and at the little dives behind Flamingo.
Yes, I think it is all ridiculous! We will be staying at The Orleans as usual. We stay away from the strip. However, I am trying to find out where I can park to see the Mac King show again. I will not pay for parking so we probably will end up not going. We leave tomorrow! If we stop getting free room offers from The Orleans, we may not come back.
Free parking at Hooters, short walk to Harrah's.
I wouldn't not call that short personally...lol
Park at fashion show mall or treasure island for free and walk across to Harrah’s. Much closer than hooter’s
Take the free shuttle from Orleans to the strip. It lets you out by the High Roller and it is an easy walk to Harrah's.

The "short walk" is 1.7 miles and about 37 minutes. I think the vast majority of visitors would not call that a short walk. Bring on the 105 degree heat in a few more weeks and that short walk will seem even less short.
