We will be travelling to the U.S.A on 9th October we are doing a guided tour of the parks and have read in the paper's in the U.K that the parks had turned away tourists because all of the rangers are not at work does that mean we will not be allowed into any of the parks we are visiting Yosemite , Bryce, Monument,Grand Canyon, Zion, the only place we know there wont be a problem is Vegas.

I am so sorry you are faced with this dilemma.

Yes, the National parks are closed to visitors. They are working to re-open the parks even if the governemt remains closed, but as of tonight (Wednesday), after a meeting with the Congressional leaders and the President, it's a no go. It is quite possible all this could be over by the time you arrive, but no one knows at this time.

Yes, I don't know what to say to you as well. Hopefully this (the U.S. Government Shutdown) will be taken care of by the time that you arrive here, but if not, I guess that you won't be able to get into the National Parks. Maybe you should question your tour company for what to do if that ends up being the case!

I am hoping they will be open by the 13th October as this is when we reach the Grand Canyon the first few days we will be in L.A,San Diago & Scottsdale, so fingers crossed.
I have checked out the Terms & Conditions of our holiday and yep you guessed it they are covered by Government shut down so we would not be able to get a refund, they will have to give us an alternative but what ?? i'm not sure yet.
But we are still looking forward to our trip just trying to fit everything in the suitcase for 27days !!!!!

So when again will you be in L.A. and LV? I ask because I've changed my trip to LV to next week (10/13 to 10/17) and am around L.A. this week (10/6-10/13 -- leaving probably somewhere between 12PM and 7PM to go to LV).

we arrive in L.A on 9th and will be there till the 10th and then we start our guided tour round the parks afterwards on 24th we fly from L.A to Vegas for 12 days.
