How is coronavirus effecting the city for tourists?

How has the Coronavirus affected Vegas? We are planning on flying in next week. Are casinos less busy? How's the airport? Things like that...

The difference in handling this between the various other countries and ours is amazing. I have friends in Thailand that directed me to a YouTube video of how the airport (Suvarnabhumi) and public transportation changed just a couple of weeks after the virus broke out in China. Everyone getting off any plane had a mask on, every airport employee had a mask on. There were stations set-up that you had to go through that had big dispensers of hand sanitizer along with a couple of soldiers making sure everybody used them before they were allowed to pass through various stations.

Everybody boarding buses and subways were required to put on masks as a condition of getting on.  You had to go through the same type of hand sanitizer posts at the stations as they had at the airport.   By the time somebody went through the airport, took the rail link, got on the sky train to the street they probably had their hands sanitized 10-15 times.

Dumb old Americans are still congregating in public places without washing their hands and not wearing masks when we have 800+ reported cases spread throughout the entire country.

Masks are more effective in protecting those who are sick from spreading the virus than they are at preventing infection from those who aren't.  We could stand more sanitation stations here for sure.

I agree with the masks being more effective that way. However, considering the up to 14-day incubation period and that we have tested so few people, it seems everyone ought to be wearing them in public to avoid unknowingly spreading the virus.

Wow, I thought it was a quicker incubation period than that.  Ugh...

This is going to massive for now.  The Government needs to provide unemployment insurance for everyone.  Its all a domino effect. The worst is yet to come. Conventions are cancelling already in Vegas and elsewhere.  Casino's will cut back as well as Airlines. How many tables will be available in each Casino and buffets.  Whew...Hang on! The shows are next!

The NBA season appears to be over.

According to Mark Cuban its more likely to be delayed with the season finishing later into SUmmer.

Most of the NBA teams wont have their arena space conflicted with other events in the SUmmer months so its an option presuming the virus quarantine does not go more than a couple months.
