How will the Cal fires impact Las Vegas

Just wondering how these fires will impact prices and room availibility in Las vegas.  There will probably be fewer people vacationing in California, so where will they go.  Also people having lost homes will have an impact on VRBO rentals and maybe hotels in Nevada

This isn't really a California vacation time anyway. So I don't think there will be many visitors deflected, and if there are, I would expect them to go to San Diego, perhaps.

Insofar as people needing temporary housing, I wouldn't expect them to go 300 miles away to rent in Vegas during the football playoffs, etc. There must be plenty of options in San Diego, eastern LA suburbs, San Bernardino County, etc.

It seems that rental car rates have gone up already, and I have heard that Resorts world is offering deals for victims and The Plaza is boarding horses and I think there are a few others that are offering assistance.  With the ability to work remote why not relocate to Nevada while things are being rebuilt ?

Well, sure...but the people in Pacific Palisades were either fairly wealthy or they worked in the service industry....very small middle class. People with portable jobs have generally moved away from expensive places like SoCal.

But you're probably right in that the evacuations and displacements will create some upward pressure on Vegas accomodations. In 2018, the Paradise fire filled hotel rooms as far north as Oregon and as far east as Reno...for months.

The real question mark is whether the Turd will approve FEMA housing expenses for all these people. If he denies aid to California, as he tried to do in 2018, I doubt you'll see any real upward tick in Vegas occupancy.
