Is air travel to LV getting more uncomfortable?

I know this could be on a different website, but at least we are all headed to the same destination.

1. For years I have taken Continental (now United) from Newark to LV because it was nonstop, and reasonably priced. Is it my imagination or has United made the seating very uncomfortable.

2. I am thinking of taking American but the trip is longer and requires changing planes in DFW or Chicago.

Your opinions and recommendations are welcomed..
It is getting way more expensive. I take JetBlue or VirginAmerica out of Kennedy--they are reasonably comfortable with TV sets.
Maybe so.I did read an article a while back that said Spirit moved the seats closer together to get more seats on the plane, which means less legroom.
I know Southwest use to have a great non stop out of Columbus. Now you have to either leave at 6 am or at 5 pm. those are your only options for non stops. Yuck.

While it is true that most airlines have moved seats in order to fit more seats onto the aircraft, don't forget that there are more passengers of size filling the seats.
I fly out of Boston and will opt for a more expensive seat on JetBlue. It's usually $100 more but non-stop in both directions. Great legroom, decent snacks and very easy to cash in FF miles.

This December's trip is $5.00 (security fee) I always book the second they extend the schedule so I have my choice of seats and perfect flights out and back.
We always fly Alaska from Canada to Vegas - with their credit card we buy 1 ticket and get the second for $100.00 - once a year - so we have three credit cards! Always great service and great prices!

I usually fly Westjet out of Victoria, B.C. direct. Comfortable flight, usually less than 2 1/2 hours and not too expensive! Alaska Airlines are also very good too.
Westjet do direct from Kelowna too - they are direct so faster, but their times aren't great from here. With Alaska we can be in our hotel in Vegas before lunch, and have a reasonable selection of flights home (all through Seattle though).
Love JetBlue for the extra leg room and the individual TVs with satellite service.
