Is Super Bowl in Vegas REALLY crowded?

We normally take our annual trip to Vegas during March madness, but this year we decided to change it up a bit because the crowds were just too crazy in March. Soooo, we booked February 4th. Then realized it's Super Bowl weekend. Is it crazy busy that we should change the date, or is it just the sports books and clubs that are busy?
We were in town last year for the super bowl. Did not think it was "that busy". Sportsbars and books are busy of course. If you don't like crowds of any kind I would change my dates. I just did not think it was really a big thing. This year could be different who knows. the economy is not that much better so I would expect the same.
I've been there both - March Madness and the Super Bowl.

Not the same year!!

March Madness IS much crazier & spread out over several days.

Super Bowl is a little nutty - mostly Sunday.

Also, all sorts of crazy bets available for the Super Bowl - it's fun!!
It's busy, but not stupid crazy. This will be our third year in a row.

We went for the Super Bowl last year...I didn't think it was crazy busy either. Like djlevin said lots of crazy bets available so that was fun...but I didn't think it was really busy except in the sports book areas
We were in Vegas for superbowl last year. There's private parties and some open parties(Hilton) we went to the silverton which was dead. Sat at the center bar and played and drank. Was lots of fun.
Been to Vegas many times on Superbowl Sunday and always attend a Big Game party as its called. Havent received any invites yet. Me and the wife will be there again this year.
If any other couple would like to get together for the game at a Party send me a PM. Will be there from the 4th thru 10 th of Feb.
We were also there last year at that time......maybe a tad busier on the weekend. We are also booked again for around that time, but will be leaving Vegas at 11:30 Sat. night, so guess we will miss Super Bowl Sunday!

About 2 hours before kickoff, the line at the Flamingo Sports Book was wrapped thru casino floor.

Actually, during the game, the casino floor/restaurants are slow, but the weekend itself is busy, but not crazy..

However, if the NBA All Star Game ever returns to Sin City - STAY AWAY!!!

marko..
We've been to Vegas for Super Bowl past 2 years and are planning to go this year. In fact, already got invite in the mail. Like many others have said here--it's not SUPER busy. Have also been during March Madness and you get many more college kids for that time and it seems much busier then and also a bit nuttier! In fact--I was just in Vegas Dec 2-4 and THAT weekend seemed busier than last Super Bowl! We're hoping to cheer on our Packers again this year!

AND like marko62 said--if the NBA All Star Game is in town--do stay away! I don't think Vegas would ever host it again after all the bad PR and experiences they had last time. My son--who was at UNLV at that time and worked the game--said the same thing--not good!
