IS TERRIBLES HOTEL TERRIBLE?

Usually stay at Monte Carlo, Orleans or Rio, already booked into the Rio in May for 7 days at a very good rate and usually get a high floor with a strip view, so today I get an offer card from Terriblesn $29 a night Fri and Sats. $19 a night Sun thru Thurs. (Special VIP Room) ???? also $10 free slot play, free shuttle to and from airport, which I dont need always get a car. 2 free show tickets for a show down in Primm . with free transportation to and from' and 3 times your points on most slot machines??? I have played there before and have won a few bucks, but did not care to eat there. Anyone have any knowledge about the hotel and the rooms, only reason I am thinking about it, is it would be a $300 savings over where we are booked If it is a flea trap it would not be worth it.
Terribles is good for what it is, a small locals oriented casino. It is small and smokey with generally friendly employees. The rooms are decent. The beds are comfortable, the last two trips they had pillowtops They are clean, have a small bathroom and sitting area. Most now have 42" flat screen TVs...think Days Inn or Super 8. The rooms in the tower are newer and a little nicer with some jacuzzi rooms. The tower is now all non-smoking I believe. The coffee shop is good but the buffet is not so great. I usually only try the buffet for breakfast with a 2-1 coupon... $5 for breakfast for two is hard to find even if you only want coffee and juice. If you have been there before you know that their gift shop is more like a 7-11 but the points rack up quickly and I always find something to spend them on. They have a nice little pool area that never seems to get busy and rarely are there any kids running around or twenty somethings partying.
Hope this helps!

I have not stayed there in a while but the couple times I stayed I found it pretty decent. The newer tower rooms are pretty good and the pool area is nice.

The casino is a bit smokey and getting a little worn down but if you don't demand to live like a king Terribles does give you pretty good value.
Their $9.99 strip steak special is pretty good.

It's been a few years since I've stayed at Terrible's but the rooms were fine. They were a little smaller than other hotels and some features such as countertops were not expensive. The pool was adequate for a smaller hotel and the coffee shop is good. The buffet is not so wonderful.
I've stayed there a number of times, usually to fill in a final night before I leave. It's very convenient to the airport if you're cabbing and they also have a shuttle. Not as convenient if you have a car, since they opened the rental center. The casino is a bit crowded, but you'll survive. Avoid the buffet at all costs, although I have survived the breakfast version. The cafe is fantastic and they run some good specials. The rooms are, rooms. Average sized and clean. I haven't stayed in the tower, but the old rooms are very accessable to the casino. The pool area isn't large but not bad at all. Very comfortable. They used to give you a nice coupon sheet at checkin, not sure if they still do. It's hard to beat their rate unless you're comped. You also have P F Changs, Bahama Breeze and Lawrey's in walking distance.

Good Luck!

I just got an offer from them yesterday (Friday) too.

2 nights comped in a tower room, $15 in free play,
2 tickets with transportation to the shows in Prim,
(one featuring Regis Philbin!!:ROTF,
and free shuttle to the airport.

I drop in there from time-to-time and play BJ.

I have not received any offers from them for a long time.

I think this one came due to using the $100 in free play
after losing $100 that Anthony gave members.

BTW, I did not lose the $100. LOL
I quit after winning a $100.

One thing I really like about Terribles is their self-parking
garage. By driving in from Flamingo I always find a spot
right by their garage entrance doors which leads right into
the casino.

The place has smoke, the coffee shop has low prices.
Food comps are easy to attain Most of the PB's are friendly.

Hey, it's not Bellagio but good for a visit.
I just got the same offers at jjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj.

Got a chuckle out of the Entertainment line up too. Regis!

I think everyone's assessment is pretty much right on. The buffet is OK for breakfast - the cantaloupe and honeydew are generally pretty fresh and there is an omelet station there, so you can get good eggs. The cafe is a good value. There isn't a high-end restaurant on site, but in addition to the ones mentioned by joespoolhall, Morton's is right across the street and you can easily walk to McCormick and Schmick.

They have a couple of little extra promos that are really good. For $2K coin-in, you can get a $10 food comp without redeeming the points. Likewise, with $1K coin-in, you can get a $5 Chevron gift card, up to 5 per week, again, without redeeming the points. That actually adds .5% to your return, because those gift cards are as good as cash. When you add that to .2% cashback, it makes the 9/6 jacks a positive play.

They also distribute a coupon magazine, which has coupons for 5X cashback on a day and several other nice little coupons.

Rooms are very basic, but they're clean. Wi-fi is free in your room in the event you take your laptop on vacactions.

The casino is smokier than most, but that's really the only thing about the place that bothers me.

I've stayed there a few times. It's a 3-story square motel-type building with a courtyard/pool in the center. Inside the building, you can enter at the NW corner (by the hotel desk) or at the NE corner (by the slot club). The is also at least one entrance on the ground level from the parking lot.

What is "the tower"?
